Its all most pointless trying to find these in the wild, stopped @ target only thing left was prestige fb. Ran into a guy who setups at local show, we talk for maybe 10 minutes, within that time frame atleast 7 different people came in looking for cards also

This must be the mentality of the vast majority. I'm sorry but it makes no sense. How can there be FOMO with a product with a never ending supply for the next several weeks? You really think with 5-10 times the amount of boxes listed on ebay that in a week or two there is a better chance they go up and sell for $300 plus then down and sell for $200 or less? Again this isn't FOTL. This isn't a limited online release. FOMO on this product when it comes to sealed boxes at this moment makes zero sense.

Has this been confirmed that Megas are exclusive to Target?

Stopped at three Targets today, not sure why I bothered. It looks like some of them were recently stocked with some Prestige FB fat packs, but there was no Chronicles to be found. It really doesn’t make sense to drive around searching unless you know the rep’s stocking schedule.

I missed my restock also. They left Mega's of Optic Baseball was all. I think unlees you have a hook up, you wont just find these in the Wild. Glad i order a few cases from Retail from Dist.

If you think megas are better than all the other formats, you haven't done your research. Based on cost to rookies pulled, there is in fact, one very clear winner in terms of which SKU to buy and megas is not it.

Went to 2 targets where I found some bowman & nba optic a mth or few mths ago. The only sports cards were a soccer game cards. Asked CS & was told that there are guys who stop by everyday. Is anyone else's Targets having a shrinking card section being overtaken by kids toys, magic, & pokemon? Seems like all this attention is causing unintentional consequences.

I’ve done plenty (at least more than you apparently) and based on quantity and quality of content, Megas are clearly better than any other format.

Good luck though! This should be fun to revisit in 6 months when Megas are going for 800

The xl rep is the one being chased by a string of guys almost like the ending of a Benny Hill episode.

If all you're doing is reselling, then sure it doesn't matter. If you're actually buying to rip, then i'm sorry but you're very wrong on megas being the best rip

Good point, not very utopian. You are right, I did not look at it like that.

My thought process was that it seems like a lot of us on here are just wanting to have the chance to just open some cards. Very few of us are getting that opportunity. If everyone gave up something; the finder some of his/her stash and the buyer still having to pay a little premium, everyone would get to rip some.

Found some at Target in the Milwaukee area. There was a professionally made sign from Excel with the Chronicles logo in the card aisle and said available at the service desk. You were limited to one of each style. The Megas were gone by the time I got there. I got 1 fat pack, 1 blaster, 1 hanger.Attachment 489198

I’m doing both. I’ve opened 6 Megas and several each of blasters, hangers and fat packs. My take out of the Megas, along with what I’ve observed elsewhere, were far greater than the rest. Hangers are clearly 2nd best IMO with the rest falling well behind.

why though? answer better not have anything to do with "I pulled more Zions in dis one"

how many chrome / foil / paper / vet in each? how many color? that's all we care about, and all that matters when it comes to value

More chrome and color in megas, not to mention more valuable chrome and color (slightly subjective I know). If there is info out there to the contrary, please feel free to share. I’d love to review your deep dive in to this...

$50 mega ~70 rookies (mostly 2 vets and 3 rookies per pack however some 4-5 rookie packs so let's go with ~70)
$20 blaster, same as mega format, 40% of size and 40% of price
$10 hanger 18-21 rookies
$5 fat pack 8-12 rookies

Obviously I'm sure mileage varies on a specific pack/box. I did not notice anything discernible with regards to chrome or numbered or at least not meaningfully to draw a conclusion. As others have already posted, I'm very interested in larger sample sizes on the chrome parallels (silver, blue, etc). Do seem to be very rare in retail. I don't think you can conclude 3 megas and 300 cards >> 1 hobby just yet for same price. Need more data given the better parallels and hits in hobby. Retail just "feels" better with more cards and base Zion/Ja.

I caveat all the above with obviously you should just buy singles, and if you're purely in it for the flip, you shouldn't care about any of this. It'll all go up or down together

cool thanks. if you could help tally how many chrome (crusade / phoenix / flux) per box that would be helpful as well. I think if we can group together some totals we can figure out best value, but as of now it seems anecdotal. as far as singles go it looks like Flux>Phoenix>Crusade>the rest, so knowing how many chrome per $ in each format would be useful. with so many damn cards per box, paper is going to be worthless

oh and btw, I have a window open with a search for chronicles boxes. PLEASE DON'T BUY any yet, the market is being flooded even with people making purchases. as of right now (3:41 PST), I show 524 listings. it's gone up about net 15 in the last 45 minutes. as more and more flood the market the PRICES WILL COME DOWN, just have faith in the process. there's no way 500+ sellers, soon to be 1k+, have the discipline to hold pricing steady and not undercut.
