BGS subgrade question

Might be a noob question but maybe somebody has gone through this. I purchased a card that is a bgs 9.5 without subgrades. If I were to send this back in to get subgrades would I have to crack the case and send that way. Or, just send the bgs case as is requesting subgrades to be added. I know they’ll have to re-evaluate the card from scratch.

Would that cost you the same price of getting the card graded? Depending on the service you used?

Yeah, I think I read that it would be a full charge since they would have to re-evaluate the card from scratch. I’ve just never submitted any cards for grading and was curious if I could just send it back to BGS in the slab.
