mail day!

she's a beauty for sure

crease free, solid centering, and the back of the card is beautiful, super clean.

Great card! Can't go wrong with Clemente.

Mail from the last two days. Very happy with the Hank Aaron cards.

Already had the Mays and Mantle, but wanted them in the scan:
[IMG][/IMG]

I know only the '57 Aaron is vintage, but I scanned my mail from yesterday all at once.
[IMG][/IMG]

My scanner made the Mays Reprint Auto look horrible.
So, I took a crappy picture instead.
[IMG][/IMG]

Now I need the 1956 Topps Hank Aaron.

Nice stuff. That’s a pretty decent threesome of 55 Bowmans.

Thanks! I'm going to pick up the 1955 Bowman Ernie Banks next. Not going for the set, but I'm trying to get most of the "big" cards in low grade PSA.

Default 2020 version of new vintage acquisitions

Posted eBay pics of these two in my Mays thread a few days ago, but they came in today to make for a nice mid-grade mail day.

not sure how I feel about this pickup

from the seller's scans and even mine the card looks nice and clean. In hand there are light creases. Still like the card a lot but still.

Default 2020 version of new vintage acquisitions

I had to sell one of these about 10 years ago. I am so glad to have one back in my collection.

Boom! Fantastic pickup. Lots of strong, iconic cards on the board recently and this is one of them.

Hi everyone- I’ve got a pretty good vintage collection, and I’m just starting to get back into buying and building it up again. I’m new to the online stuff, most of my finds over the years were show and shops. My question... Is ebay the main go to place to find cards? Should I be looking other places? I joined a couple vintage facebook card groups too.

It’s been 20 years, but now I can afford a little more Trying to track down Mays, Aaron, Williams, and Clemente Rookie cards! Thanks!! It’s great to be back in it again!!

ebay definitely has the most volume. you also need to filter through a lot of junk.

for higher end cards, you'll want to watch the big auction houses like heritage, goldin, sirius, mile high, etc.

Appreciate it. I’ve definitely been filtering though tons of junk, but there are some great ones on there.

I’m mostly looking for mid-grade stuff. I’m actually having a tough time deciding between a 5-6 grade Mays rookie or Aaron, Clemente, and Williams 2-4 grade combo.

i dont know how much you use ebay, but its useful to set up saved searches that include all the filters/wildcards so you dont have to retype them every time.

i use a site called automatedsearches.com. the free version allows you to set up ebay searches and then it checks the search every 15 minutes and sends you text alerts when new items hit. you can easily set up a search for a clemente rookie, for instance, and add in all the filters to remove reprints and the other junk. you can set a price point too, so for instance, only getting an alert when a new card is listed below XXX amount. its hugely helpful. i have literally thousands of alerts set up for the cards I am looking for, never have to bother with actual searching on ebay.

Awesome card. I remember seeing that card in Beckett magazine as a kid and thinking how cool it looked.
