I see our president hasn’t even gotten through reading article 1 of the constitution.

No!

I will throw myself on the funeral pyre of internet stuff.

We don't need to have serious disagreements, the kind that keep people up at night, or cause household problems.

Can't we all just agree that the Dave Matthews Band sucks?

I enjoyed his role in Just Go With It.

The playbook is elementary, I'm sorry I have to type this.

Limit personal contact and movement of people. Ramp up testing and lab results as fast as possible and coordinate the allocation of resources. But the first step is to take it seriously.

The anti Trump governors were the ones trying to deal with situation, I'm pretty sure they would have welcomed coordination from the federal government. In March and April the nation was ready for a plan, I mean toilet paper was sold out, we all thought we would be locked in our houses for a month. If someone would have said we could go outside but only in a mask, that would have felt like a win and a sniff of freedom.

I'm sorry but crying that things are too hard and people will yell at me if I do anything isn't an adequate response.

Nice. Now the President of the United States was supposed to issue a mandate telling people to limit personal contact. News flash: we all knew about this disease, and none of us took it seriously. Now you want us to believe that you would have listened to Trump back in December and January.

I called this already just an hour or so ago. What you're saying is Trump is an incompetent oaf, but you surely would have followed his lead in January when we were all joking about this little disease in China.

If it's so elementary, why did you need Trump to tell you to protect yourself? We all knew that the disease existed. Why didn't the brilliant Governor of New York protect his own state?

August: "TRUMP DIDN'T LEAD!! HE SHOULDA TOLD THE GOVERNORS WHAT TO DO!!!"

So predictable.

With seeing these false positives in athletes, it makes me wonder how many there are in the general population.

It’s still a good clinical tool and stands as a risk factor for many diseases.

You can determine if someone is over their BMI in a healthy or unhealthy way by simply looking at them.

But if you don’t like that, use waist to hip ratio. However you cut it, obesity is bad.
This made me laugh.

Also.. the 'BMI is useless' idea has merit, but it's mostly for people with a lot of muscle.

Many Americans seem deadset on downplaying the importance of a more plant-based diet, while the government continues to favor subsidies for the meat & dairy industry.
You being vegan is easily the least surprising personal tidbit in this thread.

Trump could have been dancing in the streets, praising our low positive rates. He could of gotten his wish and banished every brown person from entering the country and frolicked about as other countries begged for his help.
Does anyone really believe that this was possible?

Also, the last paragraph is something.

Unless masks were made the law (and enforced), people were/are just not going to wear them. That also assumes that they're going to make a big impact.

Unless these leagues are buying dollar store/Craigslist test kits, they've been enough of a joke that people should be heavily skeptical.

How about having Trump take it more seriously in the public eye? Not saying it'll be eradicated soon? Not call it a Democratic hoax? Not say that we have something that cures it?

Truth is, there really is nothing Donald Trump could have done to stop the pandemic from happening. We were going to get hit with it no matter what we did. Were there things Trump could have done publicly to make his supporters take matters more seriously? Absolutely.

This didn't help much, either:

Trump was more concerned about this making him look weak than taking it seriously in the public eye. Textbook narcissism.

It’s not useless.

It’s also not an end-all-be-all measure of health.

He’s rarely addressing my posts anymore. I think I ticked him off big time.

I was waiting for someone to say it, but you guys are terrible at labeling me.

I'm not staunch vegan. Plant-based does not = Vegan, but it is the future of a healthy Western diet.

Vegan diets eliminate all animal products, while plant-based diets do not necessarily eliminate animal products, but focus on eating mostly plants, such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and whole grains.
