That does not affect currency manipulation because China will just devalue it’s currency even more which is what they’ve done

The only way you defeat China is stopping to their level. It’s really not a hard concept.

And if your argument is to keep the interest rate as low as possible, you’ll see consequences like right now where companies are taking out loans to pay dividends or just leveraging themselves to ridiculous levels.

Bush, Cheney, McCain and Romney are all establishment neocon globalists. President Trump has been fighting their ilk tooth and nail and now some people think we should go back to a President controlled by establishment neocon globalists? No thanks.

The DNC and RNC have been picking our candidates cycle after cycle because they are so powerful. The American people finally broke through and elected an independent person. Is he perfect? No.

But, President Trump is the fighter we need to try and take back the power for the people. I’ll take his imperfections all day over turning complete power back over to the establishment cronies that have been running the country for decades.

Sure you can pay cash but most healthcare is not like LASIK where health insurance cannot be used so competitive markets have driven down prices.

Hasn't Trump just stacked his cabinet with establishment people, then fire and call them dumb? This is almost laughable that Trump cares about anyone who isn't Donald Trump. He'd throw his own family under the bus if it meant he looked good.

Trump, when asked what he thought about 155,000+ deaths and 4.5 million cases of COVID in the U.S. .... "It is what it is." So glad he cares about the American people. Now THAT'S pathetic.

There is documentary evidence that the FBI altered evidence presented to the FISA court to get a warrant to spy. There is documentary evidence that proves the FBI knew that the sub source for much of the Steele Dossier was unverified and the spying warrant should not have been renewed. There is documentary evidence that James Comey told President Obama that General Flynn’s conversations with Kislyak were normal but the President told them to investigate Flynn anyways. How is this a conspiracy?

We don’t have a market, we have a government mandate.

That’s an issue. I would love to see open competition and choice, that is completely unavailable under the ACA.

So yes, you can pay can now. Most of the time you can negotiate a better price if you pay cash

No. Do you run the Fox News Twitter? Are you implying that what he said is okay,or that he never said it? People who see Trump for what he really is know that he couldn't care less about any of us. It's all about getting re-elected so he can't be prosecuted. He already put the virus in the rear view.

Huh? Come on, you can't admit that saying "It is what it is" when asked about 1,000 people dying a day of COVID-19 is a good look. That is the comment of someone who doesn't care or is in way above his head on this. To me, Trump just simply isn't fit for office. Biden isn't either. I trust that Biden will pick better people than Trump and will actually listen to them rather than go his own way that makes him look better.

Are you worried that Biden is a criminal?

(FBI raided some banks associated to Privatbank too.)

New audio of Biden pressuring Poroshenko to fire Shokin and nationalize Privatbank (where $1.8 billion in US aid was sent and disappeared.)

Wow. Someone agrees with me on here. I was beginning to thing this was a strictly Trump supporter thread, which would be mind boggling.

I'm with you here.

We're going to disagree here.

I can accept Trump as an outsider. As a threat to the system. And I don't think he's an inhuman monster like most paint him to be. I think he has a soul and generally wants good things for the nation. But I haven't seen much over these four years to go beyond this and view him as heroic or motivated by noble ideologies.

But again, we're living in times were the algorithms dictate much of what we see—so I can't claim to have witnessed the "same" presidency that you have.

I'm back to agreeing with you.

Trump, Bernie, Yang, Gabbard, Rand Paul......basically every non-neocon/non-neolib gets ripped apart by the parties and their media machines.

Pro tip, just consider that pretty much every major political figurehead has broken or at least bent the rules. It sucks but it is what it is. Trump has done plenty himself. He is by far not a saint.

I'm impressed by both sides of the argument...I think there are intelligent people on this site, albeit people who buy cardboard pictures of men in tights.

We've all decided who we are going to vote for.

But we have to find a way to look past that. The sun rises in the east and sets in the west.

Are 1000 people a day dying from/of covid, or with covid? There is a huge difference. I'm not current on how they classify deaths anymore since they change things daily. It is a sincere question.

You're not alone in the thread.

Don't expect a warm welcome, nor amicable dialogue from ~80% of posters though.

Random question that anyone can jump in on: What are the trends in horror movies right now?

Popular horror often provides insights into the psyche of the time, but I'm struggling to identify any major trends. I know Jordan's Peele's films involving race have been highly rated and I recently watched The Invisible Man which put a #metoo spin on the story (it was noticeable but not too heavy handed). Remember a decade ago when everything involved zombies?

It feels like the rise of independent studios and streaming services has pushed the genre into more of an artsy, experimental stage (with the major studios simply rebooting old franchises), but maybe I'm missing a broader trend. What do people seem to be most afraid of in their movies?

With everything going on, I feel pod people and other tropes where the monsters are the people you see everyday should be making a comeback.

Oh, there you are!

I was hoping we could be mortal enemies! But I'm pretty bad at then internet keyboard warrior thing.

Let's debate about something, and educate each other. I've got about an hour until I pass out.

Let's pretend the number was 500, so 50% of what they are saying (A conservative percentage), does that matter when much of this could have been avoided? The man speaks with little to no concern about those who have died, who have fallen ill, or struggle with the after-effects of the disease. No compassion for those families of those who have passed. Saying "It is what it is" is the ultimate dismissal. Hilary Clinton famously said "What difference does it make" in regards to the four people lost in Benghazi (the quote which was wildly taken out of context). That phrase was put in countless campaign ads and hit pieces. I'd like to think those same folks who bashed Hilary Clinton would be up in arms over Trump's comment.

What would you like to discuss? I responded to your previous prompt but perhaps there is a more interesting point of discussion to be had
