Soto (illness) is not starting Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays despite clearing COVID-19 protocols.

Spin: Soto is yet to be activated from the injured list and hasn't yet received clearance from Washington, D.C. government officials to rejoin the team, but his arrival appears imminent. Whether or not he'll be cleared in time to fill a bench role in this contest remains to be seen, but his season debut should come within the next few days, barring any unanticipated snags. He reportedly remained asymptomatic despite testing positive for the virus, so he's presumably been able to stay in game shape or close to it. Andrew Stevenson starts in left field Wednesday

Lotta folks forget that CWs comedy legacy the last 25 years is largely playing against his tour de force role as crime boss Frank White in the King of New York. Clutch early appearances from Buscemi and Fishburne too!

Soto was cleared by MLB Wednesday but due to local health standards, he won't be able to make his season debut until Aug. 4 against the Mets, at the earliest, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Spin: Washington D.C. requires anyone who was exposed to COVID-19 to quarantine for 14 days, so he won't be able to play in either of these next two games against the Blue Jays. This weekend's series against the Marlins has been postponed, so that leaves next week's series against the Mets as his first opportunity to get back in the lineup. Michael Taylor and Andrew Stevenson will continue to get starts in his place in the meantime.

Wow! That is frustrating

Is DC not allowing other teams to travel to the city to play if anyone on the team was exposed <14 days ago???

I will refrain from getting mad only because there are a lot of people hurting in this country. A lot of small mom and pop businesses that got blindsided by this and are paying a huge price. So i'll refrain as not seeing Juan for another week pales in comparison but I will say those folks across the pond did us dirty. They did us dirty and we can't let this ever happen again. And that's all I got to say about that.

California also has a 14 day quarantine period.

so this leaves Soto with a max of a 51 game season (all the games missed plus the ones against the marlins that wont be played).

The problem is “was he exposed”?? Dont know that but for damn sure he doesn’t have it.

I picked this up not too long ago. These shine really well in person. I’ve always had a thing for the “Rated Rookie” logo.

Nice pick up Reggie. I also like the "Rated RC" Logo. I have a base Soto and pink Prizm/Holo's of Gleyber, Ohtani, and Acuna. Hopefully Soto can play again sooner than later.
