Hopefully he can overcome any mental hurdles and play better for his team. Cringed everytime I watch him play

Make him a relief pitcher for the rest of the year. Keep him batting.

It is a common tactic. The soothsayers of doom are generally looking to drop prices then snatch them up at a discount. His non-auto cards aren't really that expensive to begin with. You can get his flagship rookie for a couple bucks.

Some of you guys make chicken little look sane.

He’s 26, he had 1 bad start in his first attempt since Tommy John Surgery. He’s also a top tier DH still.

Imagine judging someone’s whole career off of 30 pitches.

I'm not. I'm judging a 26 year old injury riddled player.

Watch out for his rookie debut to be his main card when he starts raking.

This reminds me of when he struggled his first spring training (the year he won ROY) and an “anonymous scout” said he was a high school level hitter.

Did he also have major surgery then?

Yeah listen to the guy with 27 posts in a year. He’s proven he knows what he’s talking about ...

No, though he basically needed the TJ going into his rookie year.

Under normal circumstances, Ohtani would have had a month of spring training plus several minor league rehab starts to work his way back. Neither possible this year.

Sorry about the 4th wave loss. He’s done on the mound im certain of it.
Can he play RF and be Calhoun?
The more time he misses...the worse he gets unfortunately.

Next Q: How much does this new injury effect his market? I have never collected him but I have about 5/10 each of every Topps RC possible.

With this new injury, I think the Angels management is dumb enough to still push him to be a pitcher.

As far as his card market, its gonna significantly go down. I only own 1 Ohtani card, its a dual auto with Trout. I certainly think it's going to effect the market. Why dump money into a guy that always is getting injured? Specifically since he was advertised as a pitcher AND batter. If he returns as just a batter, he's just another player.

The beauty of Ohtani is he is a 2 way player. If he loses that, then he loses a lot.
