30/50 Base Cards; 8/50 Piedmont.
3 Sweet Cap (Smith, Muncy, Henderson)
1 American Beauty (Aquino)

I kind of wish i didn't dislike Aristides Aquino so much as a player. I'd have been happier with a serial'd pull of almost anyone else in the checklist, but whatever. It's an /10 - and counting the S2 Upper Deck hockey box i ripped yesterday, it's my third numbered pull under ten in the last two days...so i'm not at all allowed to complain about luck.

Very jealous of the Chipper it helps that he has a signature that looks great on small cards.. Got my shipping info today ordered on last day. Bit disconcerting to see 20 packs listed as .1 pounds, but figure that has to be some kind of typo I hope. Can't wait to get my hands on these next week.

not quite as lucky as some of you with my initial 20...ended up 2 cards light of two full base sets. (bellinger and soler)..but still have a 6-pack on the way from topps...so fingers crossed.

29/50 Piedmont - 11 dupes/21 missing i have dupes of a lot of the bad names, and i'm missing all of Griffey, Judge, Ted Williams, Jackie Robinson, Honus Wagner, and Rickey Henderson. Buy hey - I've got dupes of John Means, Eric Thames, and the Jorge's (Soler, and Polanco)...

parallels above Piedmont were:

The Ozzie Smith probably edges out the Old Mill Clemente from s1 as my favorite pull so far. I grew up on the whitey-ball cardinals in the 80s, when the Wizzard was the man in St. Louis. Smith or Musial on a big-hit parallel was pretty much my best-case in s2. As name pulls go, the two HoF names in the other sub-100 parallels are good enough that i almost forgot about how Aristides Aquino is my hands down last favorite name in the set and he crapped up my /10 pull...

The Ozzie Smith and Pedro out of 20 packs is sweet. I feel your pain with the Aquino my big hit from series 1 was a Robbie Ray cycle. You can always hope to run into a crazy player collector or super ambitious set builder with that low print #.

I've just been picking up the BCW sleeves and toploaders on Amazon, I think BCW distributes through them. Mine worked with prime shipping. They are the ones that are sized for the cards. There are also regular sized penny sleeves that have a pocket that make the cards kind of float in the center and fit in regular toploaders. Amazon does have a problem with Ultra-PRO tobacco sized pages where they will send out photo sized pages with the outer packaging marked 15 pocket tobacco sleeves. I had to return them twice and just bought direct from UltraPro. The sets look really nice together in the Ultra Pro pages, but I've got most of my player singles in toploaders and will probably switch my favorites to one touches as the cards look a bit dull in the toploaders.

on an unrelated note, I am trying to figure out what to accurately price the 1/1 bellinger at.

based on what I can see on ebay, the most expensive 1/1 to sell so far is Mike Schmidt, which went for $500. I'd say Bellinger is one of the 3 or 4 biggest stars in the sport right now, behind Trout and Acuna, and he should command more than the Schmidt card, imo.

the other issue is that the card has a faint printer line on it, which obviously isnt ideal. then again, its a 1/1 so there isnt a better copy out there. im not really in a hurry to move it, just trying to figure out what is reasonable.

I know the Gavin Lux was on Ebay initially for 35,000 or some crazy price and the price kept lowering. I think it was priced out at 2500 or 3500 last time i saw it. I'm not seeing it in the sold listings so not sure what ultimately happened to it. There are sells of mid-range players in the 150-250 range. I'm hoping to pick up 1 or 2 for individual player sets and have 100-200 set as sort of the max in my head depending on the player, but Bellinger is a modern star and more popular than the ones I am after. I'd expect Bellinger to go for more than the Schmidt, but really it just depends on the day and if you can get 2 crazy fans with deep pockets fighting over it. I'd throw it out at 1000-1500 BIN or even higher if you want and see if you get any takers or interest or throw it in auction and see if you can get really lucky.

I would really be surprised if Bellinger sold for more than Schmidt. Schmidt has a huge following and with some of the Phillies collectors that pay big money for low serial numbered cards no matter who.

I think if you get $300 for Bellinger that would be good

Some people early in the thread were also remarking that Schmidt hasn't had a Topps card in like 5 years, so there was some pent up demand and it might have sold cheap.

I sold my Lux #/25 for $200, $300 for a 1/1 Bellinger sounds too low. I would list it at $1k and see what kind of offers come in.

I think the Black Plate omissions are worth watching. Judging by ebay listings I think a lot of people are overlooking these and not identifying them. There are only 2 on ebay that I can find but there are numerous series 2 American Beauty backs (#10)and Cycle backs(#25). Or maybe I am just searching wrong.
