Is it? It is certainly possible that the cultural grievances will fade away, but who knows how it plays out at this time. The attached is from the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture. It was posted last week and has since been removed. Are these white values or American (Western) values?

Ok I read the chart. I would posit they're white American values initially as the country was conquered by white Christian settlers (they're definitely not the values of indigenous peoples to the Americas).
Many non-white people also hold similar Judeo-Christian values.

Interested to see where you are going with this.

OK, sure, Trump lived in a bunglalow on Epstein Island for two years.
Sure, there's no source for that, so I personally don't believe it, but you should be fine with it.
Just consider it a "blind item" drop, and you're go to go, right?

This, on the other hand, is sourced. It's from a 2002 New York Magazine profile of Epstein.
Trump on Epstein:
"I’ve known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy. He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side."

Both men are cut from the exact same degenerate cloth.

Trump today joins fellow one-term President Jimmy Carter in not having thrown out an opening day first pitch during their tenure in office, although Jimmy did throw one out in the 1979 World Series. William Howard Taft began the tradition in 1910, so it is possible for someone notably overweight to do it. To that end, President Trump announced he'll be throwing out the first pitch at a crowdless Yankee Stadium on August 15th for some odd reason.
We'll see...

Honestly, I am not pushing any agenda. I am simply trying to provoke discussion.

Too often we hear about the "tough discussions" that need to be had about these issues. I have found that those on the left that promote tough discussions only want to hear concerns that suit their narrative. Their views are always a utopia.

I read earlier, your posting about systemic racism. I am not denying that it exists. However, you can't blanket a country with such broad allegations. Some of left are playing a powerful game. "See it my way or you are racist, nazi, or fascist". Until we can set aside stigmas and get to the root of the problem, then nothing will be solved.

If you had a history of accurate blinds like CDAN, then your “blind” about Trump having a bungalow on Pedo Island would carry some weight.

On the opposite end is the media that reports story after story incorrectly so I’m very skeptical of everything they say.

You just made me realize I put more stock in what CDAN says than CNN. Pretty funny.

Not even kind of random.
It's been a tradition since 1910 that the President do it.
Why did Trump never do it?

Don't answer that!

I'd say this: using terms like "systemic racism" are a jumping off point for further discourse. It's not necessarily a sweeping indictment on the entire country, but rather a recognition that there are inequalities that far predate 2020 or the BLM protests.

Some people (lets use the word "left" for discussions sake) are using the discourse that you're either with us or against us, while others (lets say the "right") are digging into the ideology of rugged individualism while continually being dismissive, if not angry, about the idea of any inherent difficulties that may exist for certain socioeconomic demographics.

It's a virtually a game of tug-of-war and civility is less respected than ever before. Case in point: the President

What do you think the root of the problem is?

I think when you use the term “systemic” it’s not a jumping off point at all. It is a sweeping indictment of the “system” which to me means the whole country/system. And that’s where they lose me on a lot of this.

1a and 1b= Culture within the community and employment opportunities.

As one example of culture, you wrote earlier about the disproportionate race of prisoners. One thing to consider is that 35% of all gang bangers are black compared to 12% of whites.

Here is an interesting youtube link from members of the black community to consider https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHGt...&index=33&t=0s

I'm not sure how someone quantifies gang affiliation (polling?)
but even accepting that number at face value, it doesn't nearly account for an incarceration rate of 5.8x

Could you please summarize some of your takeaways from the 2+ hour roundtable that you linked? I've studied this issue extensively for years so I'm likely familiar with some of the talking points.

I read the article. I can't believe the law in NY allows the guy to go free when he killed someone else, fled the scene and fled the state.

And no investigation. Police didn't even bother to question the witnesses at the scene. Unbelievable. Almost can't believe it.

First thing is people taking some personal responsibility. Not blaming everything on someone else. Also the blatant hypocrisy of some in the media, politics, and with society in general right now just makes me tune out instantly. I’m all for tweaking/reforming policies and ideas if need be as time goes on to improve lives and outcomes but the blaming all the bad things in the world on police, white people and America as a whole is really not getting people like me in the middle to even listen.

I've yet to find an article mentioning the specifics. But supposedly there is something about NY law that prevented them from charging him with a felony.

I'm not sure but getting out of your car, pursuing a person, punching them unconscious (and eventually dead), then fleeing the scene sounds like a felony to me. Hopefully the family brings a wrongful death civil suit against this scum bag and takes every cent he'll ever make.
