Are items with prices over 50 dollars but not for sale subject to enhanced security fees? Or are enhanced security fees just for items listed for sale ?

how often is there debris on the card during the scan?
sometimes i look at a dark card with white specks that could be debris or surface damage? and sometimes ic a dark spot on a white card and cant tell what it is.

Is it basically like flipping a coin if its damage or not?

If you're seriously considering buying the card, you can email their customer support at staff@comc.com and they may go into the warehouse and inspect the card for you. You can also attempt to trigger this by mousing over the image and click "Report Error" in the bottom right corner. There are radio buttons for "needs rescan" or "condition notes" with the ability to write something like: "Hi, I'm interested in purchasing this item but it seems to either have debris in the scan or damage. Can you please check this card and let me know at .<insert email address here.> so that I can buy it once I know."

Your other option is to buy it, then send it through COMC Condition Review at $6/card where they will rescan it as Elite and put it in a cardsaver, and assign it a grade like a grading company would do. If the card is modern in the Raw bucket and grades less than NM-MT 8 out of 10, you can request that COMC refund your purchase price since it didn't meet the requirements of their own process. I asked them to allow us to Condition Review someone else's item by paying for it ourselves, but that is not a current option because it would lock up the card from being sold by the owner until the card returns from COMC Condition Review which takes like 5-8 business days right now.

When I was working customer service, if someone emailed asking about a scan, I'd head to the warehouse to check out the card myself - then put in an internal request to rescan the card, because I would think this customer wasn't the only one who had questions about the card...I can't vouch for what they'll do these days, or if they're even in the building.

Yep, I've requested that on some condition sensitive cards over $100 that I wanted to know about before purchasing. Figured it might be easier and quicker for the staff to check it out before I bought it rather than refund me afterwards.
I think this is reducing with the requirement to rescan everything now repriced over $100 and $200 price points. Would be cool if they automatically refunded those increases if the card sells at the new higher price before they can re-scan it though.

COMC shipping options are a disgrace right now... Just paid $45 to have 60 cards shipped by August 6th, my other option was $25 to have by October 23rd...they say because of covid and its such a cop out, how come for $20 more my cards can arrive 2.5 months sooner? Covid isn't stopping that? Lame. COMC milking out shipping time and using the virus as an excuse to force the upcharges. With seasons starting back up nobody wants to wait and they are taking full advantage. Don't wanna pay an extra 100% on your shipping costs? We will get you your cards before November. Thanks COMC. More motivation to develop some competition for their business, they have a genius model but in reality they stopped giving a damn about their customers opinions long ago, instead they are milking us now that they have everyones cards. Just venting here. Ive made thousands in profit using COMC and the versatility of the site is revolutionary. But they are getting too greedy with the model of late. I hope competition emerges, I'd love to take all the suggestions in this 486 page thread and put em to use towards a healthy alternative with a similar model but less fees and more honesty on the business side of things.

Curious what the oldest original due date anyone has for a submission with no signs of any action. Per the COMC blog:

Quote:
We will keep you updated on our Processing and Shipping backlog progress by letting you know the oldest due date we are working on in a given week. All non-guaranteed services will be worked on from oldest to newest.

We are currently working on the following due dates:

Economy Shipping: 05/25 – 6/12
Basic (retired): 05/08
Current Year 3 Week: 06/02
Which would mean that they should have processed by basic submission due 5/5 at this point. Curious if I'm just unlucky here and have slipped through the cracks or whether they are blatantly lying in their blog posts. Anyone else got totally unworked submissions with due dates before 5/8?

I have one that meets this criteria. I messaged them but received no response. I think others have said that these dates are meaningless. My due date is 5/5, but shows as estimated completion of 8/23 (which is further out than my estimated due date for my 5/8 batch).

Yeah I’m pretty sure they are lying in the blog posts. My due date was 5/8 and it has had no activity other than updating the new due date to 9/1. Nothing has been processed yet, the meaningless % they have is still at 10% too. But you may want to ask on Twitter or whatever social media platform they actually respond on about your batch since it doesn’t jive with their announcements and see what they say...in 8 months when they get around to responding.

They finished a small basic for me in the last few days with an original due date of 5/4.

my 5/8 submission has released 15 cards of the 740, the most recent was 6/5, and ALL were graded cards, I had around 40 total graded cards in that batch...

how they released a small portion 6 weeks ago and nothing since seems odd...I thought maybe processing graded was going faster, but then it all halted...they released rookies from 2000 SP Authentic, 1989 Griffey Jr, and a 2003 SP Authentic RC...that's it...

I was hoping based on how they trickled out some of the graded that it would continue and they would have released at end of June, now its looking closer to end of September...

im beginning to wonder if the 'standard/economy' processing level isn't just on hold, I think it is a thing of the past, and they are going to be a 'base' level of $0.50 processing per card, which will hurt the low end guys like me in adding cards to the site, but should bump the price of low end stuff that is already processed on the site...

Has anyone been having problems with mailbox items? I've sent around 15 packages to my COMC mailbox address in the past few months and only two have been acknowledged (via the 'mailbox submission arrived' email). Those two have been processed in reasonable time, but the rest haven't even been acknowledged despite the earliest having been delivered months ago.

My oldest basic was due originally on 4/21/20 and has had no movement. 370 cards stuck at 10%. My other basic was due originally on 5/6/20 and had a few cards processed. I think their postings aren't accurate.

My submissions always seem to have 6 more weeks to go. 6 weeks from now, they will probably still have 6 more weeks to go.
