To me the best looking cards ever produced are some of the early sets of Fleer Flair and Topps Gold Label. To think those cards were produced in the '90s and then look at what we get today is really sad. I have been stock piling some to build sets with and once I feel like I have about 75% of them I will start to put them together. I quit collecting around 1993 and had no idea what I had missed out on until nearly 20 years later.

1997 E-X 2000. I couldn't get enough of the translucent acetate shadowbox design when I was a kid.

2018 Topps Independence Day Parallels are so well done.

Actually, nearly all the 2018 Topps parallels are.

Was wondering if anyone was going to mention the late 90s Gold Label. They are stunning.

I concur.

ETA:
Let me expand on this a bit:
a) bat down
b) sapphire color really works with the Navy Braves jersey and the sea of shades of dark blue/purple ripple throughout the card thanks to the fans' clothing getting the Sapphire treatment
c) 2018 really displayed topps color parallels well, so adding the chrome/sapphire really does wonders here

Those Stadium Club cards are nice.

Personally a huge fan of Chrome especially Sapphire.
Those really pop in the black One Touch cases.

One of my favorite things is taking pictures of purty baseball cards. Here are a few of my latest (they are from the 90s-on, so not sure if they qualify for new or not to you!) They aren't my favorites, but the latest ones I've taken pics of:

After looking at several breaks of the new Topps Baseball's Finest, I'd like to nominate them, especially the black and gold refractors. Beautiful cards.

I loved the 1997 Flair Showcase set when it came out and I still find them gorgeous.

For photography, Stadium Club simply can't be beat.

I still contend that the Diamond Anniversary parallel from 2011 Topps is one of the most beautiful parallels I've ever seen. While I'll agree completely that most recent Independence Day parallels (lead by 2018's design) are nicely done, this year's parallel design in general is too subtle. Topps, PLEASE bring back the full front, faceted foil from 2011 for next year!

I'm old so my tastes aren't likely to match many here. It doesn't mean you guys are wrong, but you are.

I'm going to assume you don't consider 90s/early 2000s modern. If you do I have a whole gang of cards to post. But here are a few of my newer favorites:

This is like the 52T Mantle or 89UD Griffey but better because it's an action shot. Hands down the "best" modern card out there

I love Heritage Black Refractors, especially this 2008 since it mimics the 59 design, which contains my favorite Cardinals RC - Gibson:

This card just mimics a classic old school pose and looks great:

Agreed... drawn to bat down due to value not appearance. Prefer the rainbow foil in appearance over bat down but we know which one has the hobbies eye
