Which cards are only going down? Anti hype thread

Righto people, here is the Anti Hype thread.

List those cards that are overpriced and they're on their way down???

Doesn't mean they're trending down yet.

I have a couple to mention.

Anything from Dennis Smith Jnr. Soz to the guy that pulled me up on that one a year ago..I know you believed, but he is a poor mans Steve Francis..

Another one is Grant Hill Autos. I just don't see how anyone will want his stuff even though he was a solid talent. I give him another year or 2 tops.

I disagree on Grant Hill - he has a cult following a lot like Penny Hardaway - if he hasn’t gone down yet he’s not going down anytime soon.

Does DSJ have any value left? He’s super athletic but he’s just not good in the current NBA.

I think some guys who will go down either because they are in bad markets or are overhyped for me would be Rui, Bagley, and whichever between Embiid/Simmons ends up being traded from Philly

Embiid/Simmons are already on the low side, it also depends on when and where they are traded to, if either one of them are ever getting traded.

Anthony Davis is my pick

He's constant injury risk and he hasn't won anything, but his cards have run up big during the COVID boredom and hype. The Lakers have lost 2 role players and an assistant coach and there are talks of Davis going to Miami if and when the Lakers don't win it all.

Westbrook? How much further down can he go? He's led the league in scoring 2x, assists 2x, and on three occasions averaged a 3D for the season. Him having no titles is already priced in. He's already done what we project Luka to do.

Collectors hate him for making mean faces. Maybe they hate him for how hard he plays every night. They gonna start hating him more? IMO, if there is one guy that will be appreciated more after he's gone, that's the guy.

Good pick. I also think that even if he wins a title this year, future success is far from certain for him. Incredibly talented player, but I think he needs to be a Robin instead of a Batman. He had a lengthy career with the Pelicans and achieved very little team success.

Hes a stat-padder and ball hog. His lack of hobby love Doesn't have anything to do with his attitude or facial reactions.

I agree with this as well. Over time, I think there may be a small uptick in appreciation for his hard-nosed style, loyalty to OKC, and take no prisoners approach to the game. A title would do wonders for his hobby status, but even without one, I think he's going to go down as a legend.

That probably isn’t far off....it is the same cycle people buy the hot new set and players so in 5 years ppl will be chasing new Rcs and new sets and only a few things will be worth what they are now from the last 2 years.

Of course there will be exceptions where guys take longer to put it together like Kawhi and Giannis but there are just as many Darius Miles Tyreke Evans MCW type guys that seem like can’t miss guys that end up being practically worthless.
