I actually love today's Koufax and finally realized that Vides may be the only artist in this whole project 2020 in which I would buy each of his cards. As a long time collector and baseball card purist, I appreciate the fact that he is enhancing the original card and not taking a full on artistic licence with his interpretations. In researching his work I have found I have an interest in what he does and even though it is "just lines", there is just something about his work I enjoy.

The other artists as very talented and I have enjoyed seeing their cards but Vides and Thiele are the cards I have decided on collecting.

Can someone expand on the idea that Vides' cards look better in person? They've all been an easy pass for me, but I'm a big Koufax fan and if it really is that nice in person, I'll grab one. I just don't want to drop $15 on it and hate it.

There's a matte black finish on all the black aspects, you can see what it looks like on the link they put on the card description on Topps' website

I am thinking about it, solely because I have the original and it might look good next to it

Vides’ cards have a clean, pleasing aesthetic in-hand with the Matte finish.

That said, I’m not collecting his cards. Too bland.

Low PR base card listings have thinned out substantially in the past few days.

Heres the rub going forward. and this is all my opinion......

there has to be a "tipping point" where its not in one's best interest to "wait until its cheaper on ebay"

Now, i dont know what that print run number is, and that is yet to be determined obviously.

if you are one of the many naysayers, feel free to not listen to anything what ive said here, as i am talking about collecting during these relevant times, not years from now when we all may be dead anyway.

When Edfots Jackie was released, i then decided that i would like to own all Jackies P2020s. i had not felt that way after passing on Naturals and seeing what its assigned value is now. i missed out on a few so far, but was able to go back and pick up a Cartoon (centered) for $21 here on BO. i still need Changs, but there is no rush. i also missed out on Vides' Jackie, which has not been shipped out yet, but with a print run over over 20K, i am not concerned at all about being able to find one for $21 if i choose to spend that on it.

i guess some of this rambling was spurred on by Matt asking me yesterday if i ordered the Rochester Rickey because i thought the PR would be "low". i told him (and its true) that the reason i hesitated so long was because the border is purple. if it had been black, i would have bought one right away, as ive found that since his Griffey came out, i have taken a liking to his watercolor style. (i picked up a Griffey aftermarket here for $22)
so i wound up ordering one yesterday before the clock expired. The print run on it wound up being 4,966. does that number mean i'll be able to find an after market copy for $22? MAYBE, but not certainly.

THAT is the point im trying to get across here in this long-winded post lol

Will todays Sandy sell 20K? Na, cant see it. will it sell 9K? possibly. if it sells 5K, will it be readily available for $22? THAT is the rub indeed

CRT did a great price comparison look back on each players first two cards, 6 weeks ago to today, in his video this afternoon. The price growth was tremendous to see.

Saw it mentioned earlier but if you discredit the two week unrealistic run up prior to Memorial Day and the three week post holiday crash, the movement of these values really are encouraging to look at. Long term, even if you bought high, folks should feel good about the growth weve seen.

Even if both cards today come in around 4k, P2020 is anything but dead.
