Default Phil Hughes signing his 1/X cards from 2020 Topps Archives Fan Favorites

Definitely should watch this video if you guys are fans of the set or the player Phil Hughes. He signs the 1/1, 1/25, 1/150 and 1/99 live in the video and shows what he does to make them extra special as well as a giveaway for pulling them. THIS is how players SHOULD autograph their cards for something extra special.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0AGFOj3vEs

He also shows the Topps RIP cards he has and that he's doing the same for them. Let me know what you guys think about this.

Did a few other inscriptions that he showed on Twitter as well including the "Ebay 1/1"

“The signing of all Topps autograph cards is witnessed by a Topps representative to guarantee authenticity” <— So this video proves this is a lie

Seems like it may be partially true.

https://twitter.com/PJHughes45/statu...530971136?s=20

I would guess the rep doedn't sit and wait for them to sign all of them but just drops by to "verify" it at some point

You were deputized at the beginning of the video. YOU were the Topps rep.

Very cool indeed.

I think I need to check out how his autos are selling with this new popularity. I’ve got a good stash I wouldn’t mind getting some money back for.

Instead of just giving someone a case if they pull one of the 1/'s, I thought it would be a cool idea if that person got to break the case WITH Phil...

But that's just me...

Could fly them out or just do it live via Zoom or something...

Fan favorites is pack pulled in archives not the 1 card per box product. I do enjoy the fact there is actual editing for the video even if that means he isn’t live doing it.

Tweet it at him! You never know, he may think it’s cool and set it up.

Anyone who witnesses the signing is a “topps representative” for the purposes of the autograph contract. You didn’t really think topps had hundreds of employees who go to all the athletes houses and watch them sign cards for 6 hours did you?

Technically Phil is an employee of Topps, no? He was hired by Topps

Seeing the small details (packaging/pen requirement/etc) was pretty cool. How often do we get a glimpse into this process?

I’m an admitted Phil’s pulls fan girl, but I think what he is doing for the hobby by pulling the curtain back is great. The signing thing was super cool, hearing his opinions on stuff as a former MLB player is interesting to hear as a baseball fan, and to be straight I think seeing him rip full cases of high end product on the reg is really cool. The inscription thing is also funny as hell.

Swear to god, if Blowout tries to profit off an MLBer trying to garner more interest for the hobby, by raising prices, will not make ANY purchases with them rest of year, besides Black Friday.

Already making 3-5x on most products isn't enough for them.

I've enjoyed his videos from the beginning.

People were critical of him about subs, etc.

I don't care about any of that crap; just the substance of the video.

yeah i think he does the products justice. he doesn't bs about overhyping someone he pulls. its refreshing. plus the astros chirps are always well played. lol

The biggest problem with Phil is that he has showed collectors how to weigh packs. He says don't do it, but then goes and does it showing everyone how to do it. Not only that, but in his Finest video he showed how to find the autograph in the box.

i mean, weighing packs was a thing before he talked about it. and anyone buying loose packs needs to accept that there is a reason those packs are for sale on their own and not in a box. same thing with the finest. buying loose packs is a super risky move.
