Default Bond... James Bond 2014 & 2015 Archives 4 Case Break

I have always wanted to bust some James Bond cases. I was looking at the Upper Deck Bond set, but for the cost of one of those cases, I could almost buy 2 Rittenhouse cases. And with Rittenhouse, you have a chance to pull multiple actual James Bond actor autographs depending on the set and you are guaranteed 24 autos per case. So I purchased two 2014 Archives and two 2015 Archives cases.

I went against my OCD nature and opened the 2015 cases before the 2014 cases thinking the 2014 cases had the potential to be better due to the relic cards and the chance at 3 Bond autos including Moore, Brosnan, and Craig. I was very happy with the 2015 cases as I got 2 out of 3 autos I wanted for my personal collection and with the 2014 cases I got 0 out of the 3 autos I wanted for my personal collection.

Both 2014 Cases Contained:
007 Regular Autos
013 Limited Autos
003 Very Limited Autos
001 Extremely Limited Autos

Both 2015 Cases Contained:
006 Regular Autos
014 Limited Autos
003 Very Limited Autos
001 Extremely Limited Autos

2014 vs. 2015

In my opinion, in regards to autos as a whole, 2015 is superior as a handful of the 2014 "Extremely Limited" autos were available in 2015 as only "Very Limited" like Halle Berry, Teri Hatcher & Sheena Easton. Case in point, one of my single 2015 cases got me Roger Moore, Teri Hatcher, and Sheena Easton. For one of my 2014 cases, Teri Hatcher was my EL case hit with no chance of getting those other signers even though they were also in the set. Outside of autographs, 2014 has awesome relics and 2015 has none.

2015

2014

For the throwback sets:

2015:

You Only Live Twice
60 out of 78 Cards with 36 duplicates

The Spy Who Loved Me
63 out of 93 cards with 33 duplicates

2014:

I got majorly shorted in this department. Both sets are 1:6 packs however only 1 case had cards from both sets. The second 2014 case I opened only contained Thunderball cards. Not a single Live and Let Die card. So even though I got more Thunderball cards than I should have, and I still could not make a set because all the "extra" Thunderball cards I got were duplicates as it was essentially two sets of the exact same numbers packed in the case.

Thunderball
73 out of 99 cards with 71 duplicates

Live and Let Die
48 out of 120 cards with 0 duplicates

Is this something I could open a case for with Rittenhouse? Is this set too old to even try to open a case? What do you guys think? Live and Let Die is one of my favorite Bond movies so this was very disappointing.

Nice cards, I love seeing Rittenhouse breaks, and you don't see too many James Bond breaks on the boards.

As for whether the set is too old to open a case, I wouldn't think so. They are generally very helpful, and they seem to have a lot of cards lying around. Worst thing they can say is "Sorry we don't have any of those cards left".

Well I have to say they are quick with responding, like within minutes of me sending my email.

This was the response:

"We are only able to provide replacements for products released within the past year."

Congrats man. I love Rittenhouse Bond. Wish I could get my hands on some more boxes on the cheap. Some James Bond relics got for big, big money and some are utter sleepers. Some VP of a big time vitamin company wound up grabbing this from me for an alarming amount. I forget what set it was from

Years ago, I'm talking like, 2007 I think or something like that I pulled this bad boy. they don't make relics like this anymore...

That Roger Moore Octopussy relic is beyond amazing. That would have easily been a lock for my personal collection if I had pulled that.

Yeah, I bought that off of ebay back when you could pay for things via a money order! At least the mind remembers it as such, for like $30 or something silly (I know it wasn't more than that because back then I was spending all my ebay money on old school late 90s Donruss Preferred baseball tins trying to hit precious metals OR late 90s Stadium Club trying to pull a Jeter/Nomar). Locked in the PC, in fact it's on the top shelf of my desk. Literally looking at it as I typed this.

This set was from 2007 had a ton of interesting relics. Parachutes and flags and dossiers and such. I remember seeing other Octopussy relics that had text on it but this one was the only one I ever saw (only ever saw 6 total pop up) that was framed beautifully.

Per Rittenhouse:
RC01 Cayman Island Bank Checks from Die Another Day
RC02 James Bond Medical Report from The World Is Not Enough (Very Limited)
RC03 Fontainebleau Letterhead from Goldfinger (Very Limited)
RC04 San Monique Flag from Live and Let Die
RC05 Circus Program from Octopussy
RC06 Casino Chip from License to Kill (Very Limited)
RC07 Sir Robert King Bank Statement from The World is Not Enough (Very Limited)
RC08 Parahawk Parachute from The World is Not Enough (Very Limited)
RC09 Zorin Industries Patch from A View to A Kill
RC10 Fontainebleau Score Sheet from Goldfinger (Very Limited)
RC11 Jinx Jordan Medical File from Die Another Day
RC12 Tarot Card from Live and Let Die (Limited)
RC13 Casino Chip from The World Is Not Enough (Very Limited)
RC14 Casino L'or Noir Checks from The World is Not Enough (Very Limited)
RC15 Bomb Grenade Sack from The Living Daylights
RC16 Osato Stationary from You Only Live Twice
RC17 Playing Card from Casino Royale
RC18 Casino Chip from Casino Royale (Very Limited)

The limited and very limited hardly ever come up. There are some tarot cards and chips on ebay now for like, $500+ . It took years for the Goldfinger gin rummy score sheet to popup online, and even now I think they're all international sellers.

Plus, the back of the card says 'movie used'. Which means, there's a CHANCE that based on how it's being held (as visible in the image) that this was actually touched by Roger Moore in the film.
