I’m about to do the same. Already broke it out. Card was a BGS 9 Hoping to get a PSA 10. Sub grades had 2 9.5 & a 10. But surface was a 8.5 . No scratches or anything, fingers crossed

However, I felt that few crossed than what should have. I had a couple gem mint plus that didn’t cross. I’d never try to cross a super high end card though. I don’t think they have much success. Pop control by PSA or just snobbery? Who knows. Lol
Yeah exactly "who knows?"

I'm a firm believer that if you've got a card that you believe is going to be pretty valuable years down the road then you should get it graded earlier rather than later. Like you said pop control, snobbery, whatever. My own personal opinion is it's a little bit of everything. When a card is new it's also new to the graders so they'll probably be a little more lenient on grading them. Once they've seen it thousands of times they're probably more likely to give it second or third look scrutinizing it. Especially if it's now a lot more valuable. That's been my own personal experience anyways.

Can't you do a crossover with a PSA 10 Minimum grade without cracking it out of the BGS case? If it doesn't meet the PSA 10 minimum they leave it in the BGS case. Did you crack it out so they can not see the BGS subgrades?

Congrats and definitely big balls. I've been just sending as straight crossover service lately, I accidentally scratched a Zion Silver trying to do a crack & resub a while back and now too scared to try again. Actually, that was cracking a PSA 9 to send to BGS... with a BGS case you have the inner sleeve to protect it, but still the thought of losing the 9.5 is still gutsy!

I've been told by many people not to cross over high end cards. Whether it be PSA pop report control, snobbery towards BGS or whatever. I'm told PSA does not have a good track record cross over high end cards. I've crossed over lesser cards at around a 45% success rate. Those cards have all been all 9.5 subs or better.

I've never broke a PSA case. The lack of having a sleeve would really deter me. I got boomer fangers

Worth it. Even for the chance. Such a big boon if it crosses. I thought mine wouldn't because it was a pop 7. I thought PSA would want to keep it low and just at 7, as that's Luka's Euro number. Thankfully, I was wrong!
