I saw this at my local target yesterday...they are limiting purchased of all card products to 5 per person per upc so there is hope at some targets.

FWIW this is the same rep who is rumored to be taking payoffs to tell people when and where she is stocking the good products. Maybe annoyed not able to make that extra money anymore.

Sucks for Vegas! Washington is where you want to be. The idiots have taken over so we no longer have rules. I’m just going to wait outside target and take everything I want from the ones who bought it before I could.

Basically, using the inside information to his advantage is a violation. However, the OP describes a much worse scenario in which product is sold before it even makes it to the shelves.

eBay sleuths could likely identify and unmask those selling significant mosaic/bowman from Las Vegas that could be from that Target's region and identify the individual.
Thanks, I was just curious!

Exactly, cards are an afterthought to these stores. This section isn’t even a blip of a blip for each store and I’m just happy that most still stock the stuff. If it becomes any sort of a problem for them I just see them eliminating it altogether in store. The margins are probably much better on these junky toys than sports cards.

Aren't all cards still pay on scan at Target and Walmart? If this is still the case, then they dont care who buys them or how they are bought. They dont even count towards the store inventory. So they're not even considered shrink when opened or stolen or damaged.

I won't post personal information, but the guy is extremely easy to find on Google by simply typing "Target District Team Lead Las Vegas" which will show the LinkedIn page. Then type that person's name into Google PLUS "sports cards" and you will get his personal Twitter. He's a big baseball fan. Totally believe the OP here.

So, friends don't let friends buy retail. That's not a thing anymore?

Well the fun starts with coke... then ends with crack. We used to be too good for retail. Now if we’re lucky, we can get our grubby little hands on a sweet piece of retail

Yep. There are about 5 Targets that are convenient to me. I have been able to find Bowman at all of them over the last few weeks. I mentioned earlier, but I left quite a few at the 5th st NLV Target on Thursday. I still have not seen any Megas though.

As for Basketball, I haven't seen any for about 2 years now aside from one extremely lucky chance visit right after restock last year where I got all the Prizm on the shelf (No desire to open so I still have it). Other than that, I have not seen a single NBA product on the shelf.

I'm not sure if it's shady from Target's side though as I've spoken to many Target employees and it seems like it is getting put out people are just on it right away.

i'm going to feel terrible for him, if this guy is actually innocent and gets let go because of this thread.

Target likely doesn't care. If they do, and investigate and let him go, it will not be because of this thread.

But we have people in this thread who think Target and Wal-Mart should make an entire sports card section in the store, like a Starbucks.

Worked 6+ years for Target, assuming it hasn't changed, if he used his employee discount on the product and resold, that's a clear violation of Target policy. Being a district manager though, I'm not convinced they would fire them over this though, maybe a slap on the wrist. In the long run they don't really care.

If they aren’t using their discount there is nothing that they can be fired for. They aren’t breaking a street date or anything. Sometimes cards sit in the back for weeks until a rep shows up so if he/she went back in the back and found them and bought them it’s a rather grey area that Target likely would not care about.

Yes and no at Target. They used to be department 55 which was candy and mostly vendor stuff. Now it’s department 87 which is “boys toys”. Target and Excel split the loss, but not quite at 50/50. In general Target doesn’t care about the loss there Bc they aren’t responsible for all of it.

I live in Vegas and frequent Target at least once a week and have NEVER seen anything resembling Bowman or Mosaic. Literally EVER. I guess I know why now.
