It's pretty much Trout for that product. You aren't chasing anyone else really. The base cards are going for around $60-80s. Which is a decent increase. 24 packs 5 cards each. Even though the check list is smaller you might not even pull a Trout. I'd hold. Boxes are going for at least $200 with up swing. One sold for $335 recently.

Thanks!

That’s a great card ( I have many ) but I am not sure it’s got the highest upside in the 2011-2012 range.

Which on do you think has the highest upside? I think the 2011 eTopps and 2011 sterling

I like (and have) both. But already good run up. I am bullish on early flagship parallels and variations.

Edited to add: I think THE heritage card to own is the 2013 rookie cup action. Very low print run (1500) and hasn’t moved much during this run.

There are likely 150k printed of the 2012 trout but granted most won’t be psa10 because they are centered so poorly out of the pack. And they sat for years on base card common bins (no top loaders )

Also posted in the BST but I'm looking to add a few 2013 Topps #338 card because I simply like the image. Does anyone have a Silver Slate ("blue sparkle") version, raw or graded?

I dont really venture into non auto Trout cards (unless they are RC) but the blue sparkle on that looks pretty!

I saw one of these a while back and had been keeping my eye out for one. Even better in person and I’m excited about putting this in my long term collection

love that card and the blue sparkle, but i am really partial to the 2012 and 2013 update cards. those are my recent investment favorites.

I picked this up a while ago. I don't have a ton of Trout cards, but I feel he is someone that I should have in my PC. It's not one of the heavy hitters that are mentioned in this thread, but I figured it doesn't hurt to have a platinum 1/1, even if it is a parallel of an insert.

Yes.

I saw that Reggie has one so I was snooping around and I saw the boxes for sale, they were gone before I could think twice. Bet you could get $500 a box just on the .01 percent chances of hitting it.

I see that a psa 10 is listed on the bay. Great card.

Here's mine:

I remember posting in this thread when I picked it up that I thought I may have overpaid when I got it on best offer for $555. Reggie told me he would have hit the BIN if he'd seen it first (lucky for me) and ended up getting his for 3x a few months after if I recall correctly...

Can't imagine what they are worth now. Very happy to have mine.

Very nice! I've still got mine.. haven't seen a sale on one in a long time. Wonder what the price range is these days.

Haha! I remember that like it was yesterday!

Those cards are so dang rare, I knew whatever I paid (the day the auction ended) will be an afterthought in a few years because there are only 99 copies of them with no parallels.

There aren’t too many Mike Trout “base” rookie cards. Once a “super collector” gets all of the licensed rookie cards, he/she will look at other official rookie cards: unlicensed.

If you think about it, only 99 collectors in this world can actually say:

“I have every single Mike Trout base rookie card”
.

From March of 2019. Went for $1800. A steal in today's prices.

I miss those simpler times...when $1800 was a lot to spend on a Trout rookie with only 99 copies in existence... sigh...

I remember that post! So I had to go find it and repost it. I was the one who outed you as the buyer before you got to post a picture of it. Someone else here got theirs for $700. I still have my raw. No not for sale.
