Comparing the market going forward to what it was 5 days ago, I would consider the market for growth dead (at least for the foreseeable future). I did not buy a single card before the Griffey and that was just because Shore’s stuff started growing on me. I love this set strictly for collectible purposes, and refuse to think there’s much room for growth any time soon.

You'd be surprised....the majority of buyers and sellers are pretty decent and honest.....but there are 5-10% that are horrendous....

Everything that was ending at auction today has not had bids in 3 days. All those people are not going to pay. All those cards will be relisted plus any people holding. Prices will settle at 2 to 3 times MSRP for most. I think Trout Ermsy settles at 400 to 500.

rungoodlife has now said "When eBay asks for more information, I will be sure to remove the item from the case so that they can see the scratches without the card obstructing the view. Thanks!"

I think it’s quite a bit more than 5-10%. There’s a lot of traffic coming from outside of the hobby, and I doubt there as decent as the people who know the hobby ethics.

Nah, all he has to do is run a single Bowman auction break and people will overpay enough to offset any losses he has from P2020.

I was really excited to see Cartoons version of Donnie's 1984 RC. That is not what we received. If anything it reminds me of his 87 Topps. When I go to display all my P2020 Mattingly's this does not fit.

No one would assume that the card is a homage to the '84 Mattingly if they didn't know anything about his set.

Been ordering dupes of Mattingly. Just ordered one of this card to complete my set.

That is a veiled threat to ruin the card if you don't accept his return and he knows it.

He's actually tweeting about this:

Conspiracy thought...what if by the comments Baller tweeted today...Topps voids his contact? And Tuesday's duet w/ Blake is the last Baller we see in the project? Talk about his Ichiro and other cards jumping in price and collectability in the project.

I’m glad someone else agrees. What I think people are missing is the fact that there’s still 15-16 cards left to be released for each artist and player. That’s a LONG way to go.

Hobby ethics is pretty funny. This hobby is like anything else, good guys, bad guys, and everything in between. But I’d say sport cards tend to attract more than their fair share of sleazy people. Card trimming? eBay scammers? Pack searching? All here well before P2020 and they will still be in the hobby when it ends.
