Apparently Joshua Vides had software that blocked 20K bot-related purchases of his auto'd card of Nolan Ryan. Lol

I was lucky enough to get Ermsy Trout, Saladeen Griffey & Jeter, and Baller Trout before they exploded. Now I'm selectively picking up new ones I like directly from Topps. I'm not spending $20 on blasters these days, so picking these up for $20 each or 2/$35 isn't putting much of a dent in the hobby budget.

Thankfully there are plenty of the artists I just don't care for. Some seem to be very popular artists, but it's not my style. Shore is one. 99k print run tells me others disagree and that's fine. If my gut reaction when I see one isn't "dang, that's sweet" then I won't purchase. I love today's Jeter but really don't care for the Siff Mattingly. I'm not going to chase a certain artist or certain players (let's be honest, I will buy most Trouts however....).

I'll keeping picking up the ones I enjoy for $20 a pop and try not to focus on print runs, artists twitter followings, investment discussions, or any of the rest. Collect what you enjoy and enjoy what you collect right?

That Gwynn is pretty amazing. ALL of them are really stepping this up.

I'm there with you. I think Shores cards are very cartoon looking. Very Mickey Mouse. I will unfortunately have to buy a Shore when his Trout drops.
