This was a much needed wakeup call to weed out the mice from the men. There's going to be many ebs and flows with the remaining 300+ cards, as speculation levels fluctuate. This is now a game of PR hop scotch over a fire pit.

Completely agree with the PR point. I got into this set on May 8th (pretty late I'd say) and worked relentlessly to grab all the cards before 61. I can tell you my P2020 collection is up 356%. The newer cards will definitely not go up in value as quickly as the first 85 but who knows

That's what I'm banking on. Hopefully great artwork combined with people not ordering as many will bring people back. I do have a hard time imagining any card that was over 1k yesterday can make it back...don't you think?

As with all things, the early adopters in every highly speculative asset reap the greatest long term benefits. You win regardless.


It's now a very dangerous slope for anyone suddenly jumping in hoping to incur massive guaranteed gains. There will be money to be made on certain releases, for sure. But the waters ain't nearly as clear as they once were.


I think this was actually a brilliant move on Topps part by not creating a set limit. Adds a layer of financial russian roulette for those strictly in this for a dollar.

The clectors who actually like the cards irrespective of value remain undisturbed.


This truly is like the crypto ecosystem with a million different coins to choose and bet on.
