Will people go out and get these graded and then create even more scarcity?

Casing question.

If your case has a minor "ding" on on the front from what was sent from Topps, is there any recourse? Also, as a seller on the secondary market, if there is no recourse- how much should this be discounted in listings (if at all)?

Yes. Already Thiele Trout BGS 9.5's that have sold for $550. They are very tough to grade being thicker cards.

I don’t know about that

Personally if I had them, I wouldn’t risk it. Thick cards rarely grade well

But that’s just me

Are you guys who are buying these cards buying into the hype and HOPING for huge returns or do you have a real plan for buying low and selling at a comfortable high price.

I am serious about these questions as I would really like to know your thoughts. I am skeptical but not above testing the waters myself.
Semi-serious answer.....
No one can fully understand all the drivers for this craziness. I'm a pretty smart dude with an MBA from a top school, but have no idea WTF is going on or what i'm going to do. My thoughts are don't waste time wrapping your head around this. Stop watching the madness and put some skin in the game. You'll learn more by doing and have more fun in the process.

You'll also experience a roller-coaster full of emotion. Just don't extend yourself. Buy what you can afford.

Gave myself this same advice yesterday, and uh, yeah I don't regret it.

Probably a refund if you push it.

Don't buy the Griffey, it's a joke. Your friends and family will laugh at you for buying it.

For those that are offloading some of the high $$ cards, are you doing anything differently from a packaging / shipping perspective? Sounds like some of you are suggesting UPS w/ sig for the $1k+ cards.

It feels like a large bubble, these prices will come down hard when all the investors bail. There isnt enough pure Topps set collectors to drive up the prices.
