Fortunately Acuna has a number of great cards to own. Can you imagine if only one or two prospect/rc options existed (and they were SP)?

been wanting to pick one up, but the prices are wide open you don't really have a clue where they are.

i've seen some go for under $200 and others closer to $400, so at this point, i think i'm better off waiting for now.

My understanding is that it is hobby only. Also, it was treated as an SP photo variation to the Hank Aaron base card. (The Gleyber was created as the SP variation to the base Didi Gregorius.)

If all photo variations are the same print run, then there are probably 200 of each one. That would make them more rare than a Sapphire or a Topps Update SSP photo variation.

You inspired me to do some digging and the base variation odds are listed on the blaster boxes, so I think it's possible to pull one from retail, but those are some long odds. Regardless, thanks for posting about that one. It's now near the top of my want list.

I think the days of this card selling for $200 are long gone. If they drop to that I will literally buy every one that is made available at that price until I own all of them
Seriously though, I would not wait on this one if you really want one for your pc.

also, i don't like this card for whatever reason.

don't get me wrong, i wouldn't be mad if i pulled this card from a pack, but there's just something about it, that i have mixed feelings about it.

i had a shot at it, i offered the seller $430 on his BIN of $450, but then he pulled the card a few hours later.

i think i'd rather get the Heritage Action over this Topps variation card.

The US250 true RC.

That’s the one everyone can/will turn to.

You can pull photo variations from retail... that is where I pulled the Ohtani variation

This is an awesome one, although I'm biased.

Currently sitting on 5 of these.

I hope you have them in a pretty stiff holder if you keep them under your rear

What are those retail odds for the variations? I can’t find anything online, and I’d like to try figuring out how many variations may have been inserted into retail.

This is completely a guess, but it would make some sense if there were 50 variations in retail to go along with the 200 in hobby, for a total of 250. While there are some Topps/Bowman parallels numbered to 200, 250 seems a little more likely. (250 is the also what some believe to be the print run for flagship SSP variations.)

Does it also come with a black base behind it? Do you keep it under the bed?

Well, as much as I love the HHN action, I'd say you did well going for a bat down first. That card is really reaching iconic status; like it literally is becoming common knowledge to people that don't normally collect cards kind of iconic.

Well, of course now that you ask I can't find the page that I found the odds pic on haha. It was something similar to hobby though, but higher. Like 40 packs higher if I'm not mistaken. I'll see this week though because I'm a sucker and bought a bunch of blasters on ebay.

i could be wrong, but if i'm not mistaken, the picture taken is from his very first at bat in the majors.

That's pretty awesome if true. I just won that Transcendent green auto on Ebay yesterday, and I believe it's the same image as the bat down. It made me like it more.

It indeed was. He hit a deep one close to the wall but stayed inside. The next day he hit his first MLB HR and the rest is history.

If I had to pick one Acuna to own as his "best," it would be his true Flagship RC... 2018 Topps Series 2 #698 "Bat Down" image. It's just my opinion, I know there are more expensive cards, I know there are third Topps RC's, but the true "Bat Down" Topps Flagship RC will be my pick.

You called out a card with print run of 13 as being his rarest card... while I’m thinking: there are several 1/1... or #/5 or #/10

I believe I said "probably the scarcest", but I catch your drift....I guess it would have been more accurate to say "scarcest non-parallel".

Anyway, I was wrong on the facts as well....the 1983 minis from 2018 have 9 white copies......its the 1984 minis from 2019 that have 13 white copies.

Either way, it's scarce and cool....and about half the copies are off-center.

what is w/Topps and scarce cards coming out off-centered?

I collect Devers and all of the ‘18 Heritage Chrome Gold #/5 were cut off-centered (or at least the 3 which have come to market, so far)

BTW isn’t mini just a parallel of flagship? Same card, number, and everything...
