Ya, there are gonna be some sellers who cut off their nose to spite their face, but there are a whole lot more who will do right. I've found mine and if I go through eBay, it'll be through them.

Actually they are costing themselves nothing. They aren't even making money on the cards at under $20 a piece after fees and shipping. On the Ermsy Ted Williams the couple high volume sellers will lose more money not selling those for $300 a piece than they will profit off the rest of the project selling cards for under $20 a piece.

Yes, they're costing themselves future sales, and they are making money, they're making their money back, leaving themselves with plenty extra to flip at the higher prices, and increasing their odds at a 1/1. I've already talked to more than one seller who has confirmed they're doing this.

All that goes out the window if their rep is in the toilet. I'm not saying this is going to be true for all sellers, but I will bet you that there are plenty here who have had positive experiences with sellers honoring their deals compared to the alternative.

Just starting to pay attention to this. Is there a set schedule when these hit the Topps website? Don't want to waste time checking the website daily if new cards only show up on Wednesday and Saturday (for example).

I pre-sold some Mays Saladeen and Ichiro Chang cards after they sold out. Bought 10 of each and sold 5. For me I knew going in they would be worth more when they shipped than at the time. Kudo’s to those people who purchased from me as they will get their cards and will profit handsomely from them. I plan on doing pre-sales in the future too and I totally agree all it takes is 1 mistake to ruin your rep. It’s takes a lot to earn a customer but only 1 bad thing to lose them.

I would recommend that also. To me it's worth the extra $2.50 for a chance at a gold frame. However, I'm only going for a couple artist sets. If you're going for all 400, there are trusted sellers(some on here) and you'll end up saving over $700 if I did my math right.

They honored the deals before because they weren't losing much money. $20-$30 price change a card is much different than $200-$300 a card. Before they had a great chance at a 1/1 with PR's under 5k. Now it will be like finding a needle in a haystack. They confirmed to you what they were doing weeks ago. As of this weekend things have certainly changed. How many preorder cards have gone from under $50 to $200 in the last week?

I think it's a niche market with the percentage increase limited. Going from a $200 card to a $600 card isn't that great when you're seeing the regular versions go from $15 to $150.

If you were preselling a 10 pack of 20 different cards at $20 a piece that the value was now $200-$300 a piece can you honestly say you would still ship them out?

I got my Trout Ballers in today and I am afraid to list because of the price increases. Was going to list for $50 this morning but then got nervous. At some point though I will probably list. Maybe when $500 for a 35,000 pr card. Crazy.

I wish Topps would just randomly insert them into their shipments or do a Dutch auction to make the bot bois go away. But again, it’s Topps we’re talking about.
