I just sold one of my sets of cards 1-74 locally for $18,000 cash - took $1500 to pay off the cost on Topps so far and I'm free-rolling the rest of the way til card #400 with an extra $15,000 profit for my time. Still sitting on 4 more sets (and an extra Baller Ichiro from my Moneybear trade) and won't touch those until I need to. Better to take out some profits and not be too greedy, I've always been told.

Who says collecting can't be fun?

So I have a co-worker who I was talking to this morning. Big Mariners fan for some reason. He used to collect cards, and the conversation turned to these Project 2020 cards.

I was telling him about the astronomical rise, and he said, yeah, I bought a couple of those weeks ago. Got them and put them away in his house somewhere.

Yeah, Baller Ichiro and Saladeen Griffey.

He about $h!$ when I showed him ebay comps. He's been on his computer for the last two hours figuring out what to buy. My question to him was, "what have you been doing for the last six weeks?"

Beck’s Gibson is pretty much a $60 card now. Print run 6757 is relatively low for a recent release. I kind of wished I did a Gibson set because all versions have been great. I think the artists are having fun with the pink and blues in the card giving it that tropical feel. Also helps that Gibby has a hell of a smile.

I did the same exact damn thing. I figured, let me get 5 because it's a cool ass card...but it will probably languish at the $15-18 range because there are so many.

FWIW, I just went back and bought a 2nd 10 pack of Gibson by Ermsy.

Every single Ermsy card has skyrocketed.
