do people really run up credit cards for these things???.... why not just pay with a debit card.... or make sure you are paying with the amount of money you know you can afford to spend.... why run up a bill?

No, I actually own a couple because I like how they look. And then I come to this thread and see people circlejerking about exponential growth in prices and realize that's it's not about the art itself, which is what I had hoped as someone who enjoys collecting, but rather this is the new product the card investing community decided they want to play hot potato with.

Anyone else think the Saladeen Money Bear will outsell the Baller Ichiro by the end of the month?
Lower print run, better artist, better cover athlete

You live in America. The vast majority of people do not know how to handle money. I would dare say that 90% of the people in this thread are leveraging themselves to buy.

I'm out the running for a Ripken Fucci not paying $500 for the card after having 2 canceled orders on me for the card in the last two weeks. But in hind site I have the Emrsy Trout and Auto version on the way and all the other first Editions Ichrio Baller ECT... At this point I would trade someone for the Fucci Ripken.

I think the autos detract from the card, but they are cool.

I am going to attempt to get an Efdot Auto though for his Jackie Robinson card. That's the only player I'm doing player the run on. They'll probably sell out in 30 seconds, but I'm gonna try

People are targeting cards in cycles. With today's record high print runs, it should help boost Jamieson cards since all his other cards have low print runs. Particularly the Mattingly (or really any Mattingly) since he is autographing some for charity (assuming he does this for all the 2020 cards?) and the autos are bringing in good ebay auction prices.

The 2 Jeters with the 9k print runs don't look so large anymore either.

No doubt, and selling cards they do not yet own, but picked up on the secondary market, from a seller who may or may not fulfill their order, and haven't been delivered by Topps yet.

It could get ugly out there, but the shekels are flying high right now, so may as well ride with it

I’m in my 30s and have never been in debt. I always pay off my CC every month. I have the money to buy these cards but it’s still ugly looking at my CC statement.

It takes forever to catch up on reading everything in this thread now. I’m sorry if this has been answered already...

That Money Baer card might have very well been printed by Topps. You can say it’s not related to P2020, but it might be exactly related to P2020.

Not there. It’s like prjt2020.com or something like that.

EDIT-As I was typing this, I just read a couple posts up about a credit card bill.
I mean people were thinking 35k for McGwire and Jeter. That's a huge miss on the high side. Right now you have everyone chasing the early card returns. Some people might free up money going forward, but some/most are going to be holding 10k+ PR cards that aren't selling for more than $30. Lots of those people will lose interest.

Ermsy Williams and Grotesk Jeter. Two cards that won't be delivered by Topps for another month, probably.

Yet they're both around $100.

No doubt people who bought on the eBay pre-sales are trying to cash in on the card they hope comes from the person they bought it from. There could be multiople eBay sales on the same card where buyer A sells to buyer B who in turn has sold it to buyer C. Yet Buyer A may never even get the card, if they didn't get it directly from Topps

What's been the most recent card # that's shipped from Topps?
