Because I think short sighted baseball card collectors/"investors" are driving these prices and the only people who will care about money bear cards 5 years from now are art collectors, who won't care the artist created a card for Topps in 2020. I don't like to speak down on these cards because the artists deserve every penny they get but you all are crazy and I only hope that the people who get burned by this are the people trying to turn a quick buck, not actual collectors.
i agree. i dont think many actual collectors will be burned by these

There is no way prices could have climbed to where they are today without collaboration from collectors/hobby investors/artist followers/art lovers. One leg of this monster wouldn't carry it.

I've purchased ten each of the first four Jeter cards (haven't sold any).

I can only speak for myself as someone collecting the Saladeen set. I would not feel like my set was complete with out the money bear. The money bear is iconic and what Saladeen is known for, way more so than any of the players in this project. For the artist collectors, this card will be more valued than any of the player cards. I understand completely that not everyone will agree on this but just trying to provide the perspective of someone pursuing the Saladeen set.

I should note that I do not buy these to flip either but am really kicking myself for sticking to the two artists I collect only and not buying duplicates to resell.

Had someone back out of a $450 Best Offer purchase early this week... will sit on it for a while...

My $750 Ichiro Baller sale went through, although buyer took a couple days to pay... figured I had seen it went up the next day, so knew he wouldn't back out unless it was purely financial.

I'm really surprised at this one.....but then again, nothing about this thing should be surprising any more, keeps gaining steam. People can say it's pumping, but the pumping isn't even necessary...proof in numbers are out there..

Someone gets it!

A saladeen bear auto could legit fetch $10k to one of his fervent followers and I’m really not joking around. You can buy an unnumbered money bear print for your wall for like $500. Imagine what a hand-sealed money bear card with saladeens auto on it would mean to his thousands of die hard fans!!!

Saladeen Griffey got me into this set. I loved the card, I’m from philly area too (wife from west philly), and grew up loving Griffey so it was a no brainer. Happy to have the saladeen card to go with the set.

Just for it to be broken again 3 days later, with this growth of popularity in the set.
