So I bought a card on March 22nd without paying attention where it was coming from...
Hong Kong Now normally I know it can take a bit but with covid being what it is, the package has been stuck “ origin post is preparing shipment” since a few days after it was shipped on the 28th. I’ve messaged the seller and he’s trying but there’s just not much that can be done right now obviously... My question is if I’m just patient and wait this out and say July 1st rolls around and the status in some way changes to indicate something is in fact wrong... will eBay/PayPal still side with me or is there a situation where if I don’t start a claim within 90 days or something, they’ll no longer help me?

Here in the PH, it's the same thing. We get stuck with that status for some time until it really lands in the country of destination (sometimes for 2 weeks) until there'll be movement again.
Be patient as you have 45 days (or is it 60 now?) to file a claim if there's no movement by then. |

Just won an auction a couple of days ago. Says it won't receive the item until 07/17 so my expectation to receive the item is about 60 days.

There are some good sellers from Hong Kong. As long as they have a high feedback score I believe they are trustworthy. The question is how long would it take. I have bought from HK sellers, average wait is 1-4 weeks. They do a good job with the packaging too. I never had an issue with them in the past.
The longest I had to wait was 3 months for a package from Czechoslovakia. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yeah I’m not blaming the seller at all, as far as I can tell they did everything correct. I wish they hadn’t waited 6 days to ship after I paid but I realize there are other things likely going on around them at this time. But, no I mean I got a tracking number. In fact I don’t even know what they can do as its technically been shipped. I simply asked them if they get it back for some reason to please let me know.
My main concern is it’s been stuck on this status for almost 8 weeks now. As vto47 mentioned, there’s usually a timeline you have to place a claim by. I don’t want to be patient and kind and miss a deadline that costs me 300 dollars if the card never shows up. I’d hope eBay/PayPal would cooperate given the circumstances. Should I file a claim just to have it on record if a month from now it’s still not here?

I've got one for you. I sold 2 of the exact same Jordan e-x2001 base cards, both psa 9s. To the same buyer in Canada but days apart so separate mailers. Ironically the second one shipped got to Canada somewhat quickly and has been "out for delivery" since 5/4.
The first one I shipped took forever to update and leave Chicagos customs house, finally did and delivered. Just odd. |

Yeah I am from Canada and this is the crap I have to deal with. The limiting factor here is however long customs decide to clear then items. It could be a day, or weeks. I ordered an MJ card before the Last Dance aired, and it is STILL sitting in customs. I also paid the duties from the eBay global shipping program. Fortunately the card is for my PC so I can wait for the card to come to my in the fall I suppose. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
