Has there been a checklist published for Chronicles yet? I haven’t seen one anywhere...

No he was not there even though they announced it.

Not as far as I know but there are little snippets and clues in the promo material.

Will any of these players ever do anything? I just see a load of fairly average players that will never do anything of worth. It seems like there is a lot of hype for nothing much. I get that the two Chelsea boys had a decent season. But to break out and become something, they will have to really step up.

Most won't. But that's rookies/young players in any sport. If anything, I would say soccer doesn't have as many hyped young players as other sports.

For me these two and Greenwood are the big rookies for the PL sets. I'd be disappointed if only one or none were in it.

I dont follow American sports so much at all, but its very rare that there is a player that has a lot of hype like Zion Williamson. Never played an NBA game but being talked up. The age at which they start is a lot different but.

tammy, mount, and greenwood are all pretty good. i don't think there will be too much demand for random bundesliga guys.

Exactly.

Being a star player means being able to do it year after year after year.

There have been a lot of 1-2 year wonders who have then disappeared into the land of the merely ordinary.

Agreed - happens all of the time in all of the sports that we collect. Baseball prospecting, football quarterbacks, the next Jordan in basketball....not sure about Hockey but I'm sure it's the same there too.

Funny how much money is being put into Zion, Luka, Acuna, Lamar Jackson and it's now the same with soccer. Buy in on the young studs and hope they turn into Jordan, Jeter or Brady

And at these prices, lose a lot of money if they don't turn into the next Messi/CR7.

Nothing wrong with doing a little prospecting....but you've gotta buy low and hope to sell high.

Not buy high and hope to sell higher.

There is no buying low anymore.

That is not entirely true. Sure, wax box prices are higher, but you can still find stuff out there on rising players cheap, just have to refocus and go to where the ball is going to be passed to, not where it's at.

That's what I enjoy most about this hobby. Identifying new talent, buying cheap and holding. I love when my guesses come into fruition. Anybody can go buy higher dollar established players, but to play my game of buying low, holding, and then being right about my pick is much more rewarding to me.

You can't keep doing it with the same guy as eventually people catch on, so I move onto new guys.

I still think Phil Foden is somewhat affordable and he's got so much room to grow.

I don’t disagree. But if we’re talking about any elite prospect/rookie, there’s nothing left that’s cheap unless it’s truly junk. I mean, in October I was buying Luka Optic base for $5 a piece. Those days are gone. Probably forever.

Nice Havertz! While he's still my PC guy, the PC may now stand for Poor Chance as the run up on him is getting a little out of hand. Two orange/25 just sold for $1300 each within an hour of each other.

But realistically what can he become? Could he be rated higher than Gerrard, Giggs or Scholes, maybe, but extremely doubtful and you can pick up any amount of those cards for reasonable prices.

I'd agree, Foden is the successor for David Silva, and in the Pep system the next Iniesta. Although football fans love them pure centre mids don't do very well hobby wise, look at Modric, Silva, Kroos, Kante and Pjanic. It's like the ceiling on the values of NBA centers or NFL linebackers. Same goes for goalkeepers, defenders and defensive midfielders.
