New York just put out a 51 page clonker of a plan for reopening
This is why this state is doomed. The whole thing is set up for TL; DR.

It's just a campaign ad for Cuomo and his "new normal," a false premise by which he will warp the future of the state to meld with his own dictatorial vision. Filled with MUST, HAS TO, WILL sorts of directives. "Never let a crisis go to waste!"

Here are some gems:

PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY
Of course, it’s not plausible to be inside 100% of the time – you have to go get groceries, check the mail, and walk the dog. Still, the fact is that every minute someone’s interacting with the public, they’re increasing the risk to themselves, and they’re increasing the risk to other people. Taking unnecessary risks also disrespects the sacrifices of frontline workers. Failing to do your part could mean more people get infected, potentially overwhelming hospitals or infecting heath care workers themselves.

We will be "Wearing a mask, all the time."

REIMAGINE EDUCATION WITH BILL GATES
Going forward, we must explore ways in which our education can be reimagined, including by examining ways technology can be used to provide more opportunities to students, reduce educational inequality, and better meet the educational needs of students with disabilities.
Over the coming months, New York State will partner with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, as well as local education leaders from across the state, to convene experts and develop a blueprint to adapt our state’s education system for this new normal. To aid in the development of these plans, in early May, the State launched a Reimagine Education
Advisory Council, made up of educators, students, parents and education leaders, to help districts reimagine schools as they prepare to reopen.

CLOSING THOUGHTS
"The solutions won’t be easy – and aren’t even necessarily clear today."
[BUT WE JUST HIT YOU OVER THE HEAD WITH 51pp. OF OUR PLANS]

BELIEVE THE DEAR LEADER
And it will require all New Yorkers to put their faith in competent elected
officials, guided by facts, rather than by optics, celebrity, and press releases.
That is what we owe our state.

I have a feeling there would've been similar outrage if he didn't let American citizens come back home.

This is a great point and would be valid in this case if we were discussing randomly selected viewpoints.

The difference here is that, while we are looking at different things being said by different people, the only reason we're even aware of them is because they are being shared, retweeted, liked, and promoted by the online communities.

In this case, I haven't seen a single instance where the claim that Trump and Pence are taking this virus super seriously has been upvoted to the top of one of these sites. One would think that if two groups of people—one which believes that the White House is not taking things seriously and one which believes that the White House is taking things seriously—had both existed all along that we would have seen this view point become popular and be shared prior to right now.

The fact that we haven't suggests that people, in large numbers, are easily swayed by whatever today's headlines are.

Trump was in a tough spot with that, no doubt, but that wasn't only Americans in that number.
His patchwork European ban was also lacking, whatever the exact reasons behind his bizarro exemptions.

Let's see here ... $1T to the sharks out west, $2T to the jets on the east coast and yup, federal government will just give everyone everything.

https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/...192136575.html

Problem solved. Vote Newsom in 2028.

Weird. I didn't even quote his post, I quoted jdands.
I have to laugh when he wants to know why no one will give a rebuttal to his Trump is bad post.
There's 13,000+ posts here and I'm pretty sure he got his rebuttal several times over.
Maybe he needs to start at the beginning and reread every post to see what he missed out on.

If my math is correct and we bail out the states to the tune of ~$4 trillion, then give every American $2,000 a month every month we're in a national emergency, (+$2,000 per kid) ... Trout prices are gonna go NUTS!

LOL.

If you are a Unionized Public Sector employee you may get your unfunded pension money some day. Unless Newsom uses it for Ritz Carlton hotel stays and drugs for the homeless, or just pays for a bunch more illegals to hide out there.

The $2,000 per month is retroactive back to Feb/March right?

I was referring to today's posts and there'd been no rebuttals.
I see you have none either, just more insults.

March, yea.

And with the higher cut-off limits, I might even qualify if I play my cards right. $8,000 a month for us.

These people have lost their minds.

So I'm getting $6,000 so far or do they deduct the $1200 I already got?

The way things are headed is really alarming. There is nothing normal about whats going on. Scare the people, make them depend on the government, and then take away their freedoms. How long before they start to twist whats going on into getting people to give up their firearms?
