Default Best sellers on sportlots?

Who are the best sellers with large inventory?

Man, that sportlots site is slow.
i was trying to buy complete insert sets, but i just takes to long to add cards.

Any secrets to buy(add cards to my cart from the same seller) faster?

Yeah it's crazy slow. Worth it IMO though because it's so cheap! As for best sellers, I've always had success with lattacar. I also liked sgtsly12 and cttcdork is a real stand up guy.

I'm at "bwaldexo" on sportlots.... only have about 7000 cards listed at the moment.

You can search through a sellers inventory, but you still have to add each card individually...

I prefer Sportlots over eBay and COMC for selling, but my own site is still the best because my entire inventory is available and no fees!

Sportlots does take a pretty big percent if you do not reach higher sales totals, that is why I am surprised so many people list commons, and even not not so commons, at the minimum .18 cent threshold. Unless you are selling a lot of cards, Sportlots is taking a big chunk of that .18 cents.

You definitely need to get to at least the $100 mark in sales for the month to be able for it to be worthwhile!

I wish Sportlots would add one more tier to the pricing structure, something like $2500, 12% fees.

But the fees are like they are, to encourage sellers to list more inventory.

PS, I'm glad you started this thread. It's been due for a long time!

Not into selling that much but do know several guys selling on Sportlots. They do 1000s of cards per week. 90% under .25. Yes they keep putting in cards every day. A lot of guys trying to full out sets.

I have purchased cards there a lot. Issue now is I feel I have run out most of the sellers of cards I need. My last order was in Dec of 2019. But I have a list of cards and sellers that when I get enough I will do a purchased. This list is taking longer each time. I have some LOOT money and a credit from my last shipment. (due to shipping cost error.)

Question about functionality on Sportlots.

Let's say I search for a card and there are 10 different copies for sale by ten different sellers. Is there a way to add all 10 of the cards to my cart at once or do I have to add each one individually?

Unfortunately, you have to add them all individually.

Yes. I did, two or three times- then realized putting a little more time into listing in variation listings on ebay would bring more visibility and 3-5x the $$ (stopped listing commons tho- those go into sets and/or sold to my friend(s) who sell on SL's ha)

I am in the process of wanting to go through and fill in some of the gaps I have in some sets. I know it will take me probably a week or two with time. Does anyone know if there's a way to store the cards I want, like a watch list, or adding to the cart that they will stay there for a period of time without clearing out?

As long as you are signed in, all the cards will stay in your cart.

I prefer Cardbarrel for junk wax but Sportlots is my favorite place to buy recent cards and 60s and 70s commons.

I wish it was easier to find sellers who have what you want though. If you're buying 25 cards total from 5 different sellers it's likely not any cheaper than COMC. I usually find a few I think might have a lot and then search a few example cards in their inventory to see but it isn't perfect. I wish you could add 5 or so cards without a seller/card and then see how many matches each seller has and what price/condition. That would make finding sellers easier. I've found a few sellers I usually check first (bryanscs is one of them) but depending on the types of cards I'm going for they aren't always a good option.

A lot of sellers also have really expensive shipping. I placed an order last week and I paid almost $10 to ship 76 cards from 1 seller. It came in under 8 ounces so even with retail pricing that's $4.80. Looks like he paid online so he probably paid $3.39. I can see a bit more than that to cover shipping materials and fees but $5 or $6 markup on shipping under $5 is a lot. Still the cheapest option overall as paying an extra $5 to 1 seller is better than paying an extra $0.80 to 10 but it's annoying as a buyer. They also didn't add the tracking number.

I'm a fairly new seller on sportlots. I don't offer a budget shipping option (PWE) because the cynic in me says that buyers will just say they never got the PWE. The seller in me says that I'm definitely losing smaller sales by not offering the budget shipping option.

I understand that I'd probably only lose the cost of up to 4 cards which for low would only be 72 cents (plus postage), but could theoretically be $20 if they buy four $5 cards.

As I'm typing this and thinking it through, if they buy 4 of my more expensive cards and request budget shipping I could always ship in a bubble mailer with tracking on my own dime since I made a little extra seller higher priced cards.

My question for big sellers like bryanscs is how often do you get hit with a "package not received" when buyers use the budget shipping option?

Thanks, Nick

You can set a threshold for budget/premium shipping - say anything over $10 and there is no option for PWE any more.

I have no idea how many envelopes I have sent out over the last couple of years but I could probably count on one hand the number that have been claimed missing - it really hasn't been much of a problem.

Been a great site for me to clear out some stuff and sales are generally pretty stable.

I used to offer PWE shipping for up to 4 cards totaling $25 or less. Then I starting getting a ton of orders between $10-$25 that 'weren't delivered' in their PWE.

January 2019, I changed my settings to only allow PWE shipping for up to 4 cards totaling $0.75 or less.

I have shipped out thousands of PWE since then, and I've had less than 10 orders not show up.

So my recommendation is to offer PWE shipping, but keep the threshold low (maybe not as low as mine, but it's up to you).
