True Story, I wonder how much money they lose because of this issue on a regular basis.

I got it to load enough to check on sales, took probably ten minutes just to get there.

I don't understand how their site always seems to be down during low traffic hours.

Me neither, been slow for a few days but now it's just non-responsive. If this is a denial of service (DoS) attack, then COMC needs to figure it out. There are ways to marginalize DoS attacks, but it costs money and IT resources.

I can access the site from my phone but not from my laptop. I know they've said no repeatedly but I would love if they would create an app. Push notifications for offers, etc, like on Ebay would be awesome.

It has been like this since last night at around midnight pacific time. It was probably crashed by everybody trying to buy Lebron cards.

There's like a 95% chance that the app would go down just as frequently as the website

I have just got back into buying on comc.... Not sure about some of the fees but its still a great place to buy oc cards.

In the past I would buy low end cards to flip but it seems like that isnt feasible with the new few structure?? idk I'm confident my "2.50" cards would bring 5-7... But if it cost that $2 to relist its a wash.

The new deal may be $50 cards that will pull 70 -100.

Say what you want but even if the fees went up comc is awesome to me. My pc grows daily and for not alott of monies. Get a great shipment once a year and try to think "what did that one run me?"

Not sure what you're talking about. The $2 fee is only to change the price of a card from under $100 to above $100. There might have been a few people who got it accidentally, but COMC should fix the glitch and refund them.

This downtime is bad. I am not sure it has been this long in awhile. At least not for me. It has been all morning. I usually only have small periods of not being able to get on. Frustrating to say the least.

Not sure if this helps, but I have been able to access COMC with Google Chrome, but not so much with Firefox.

It's strange. I'm on Firefox with a Window 10 PC and I can connect no problem. Fast as can be. Google Chrome on my laptop does not work at all. Same gig-based wireless connection on both platforms.

As mentioned by John, the $2 fee is strictly for items which are priced $100 or more. These are taken out of inventory, rescanned with the same tech they use on their eBay lots, and also double checked for possible trimming or other shenanigans.

It's likely you can still find flippable stuff which is priced $2.49 / $2.50 or so. This is because larger sellers can upgrade their account so they pay $50 per month as an upgrade fee, but they don't pay storage fees on items priced at $2.50 or less. Because of this, there are a substantial number of items on the site priced at $2.50 / $2.49 which could probably be priced higher.

Regarding your buying $50 cards and reselling them for $70 thinking, I would highly suggest you look at COMC's eBay auctions. All auctions start at 99 cents with no reserve. You can bid on eBay, and if you win, if your eBay account is connected to your COMC account, you can pay for the items on COMC using COMC credit (plus 10%). Then you can reprice the item to try to flip or add it to an upcoming shipment.

OTOH, a regular eBay buyer will be paying $4.99 shipping or some such amount for the first item they buy. So you have some advantage there. It's also possible that you can pick up a COMC eBay item at a price where you can comfortably list it for a flip, but also take physical possession later on and sell it in some other venue if the flip doesn't work out.

When they updated the website years ago, making the move from "check out my cards" to "COMC", they made the website scalable and viewable on any device, therefore making an app redundant.

Besides, they don't have the money/resources to put towards building and maintaining an app...it would be another project that starts strong and slowly fades away - while that is their SOP, it's too big a project even for them to attempt.

It was a solid 2.5 minutes of work-ability... Hopefully everyone got what they wanted done in that window.
