I'm curious to see what Mbappe's Prizm Silver PSA 10 ends at....it's up to $1,375 with 4 days to go. Last 2 have sold for $925 and $1K

There are 2 raw Mbappe Topps Chrome refractors over $400 with a couple of days to go too. Last PSA 10 Chrome Refractor sold for $1,100.

I'm actually surprised the Mbappe Topps Chrome Purple Refractor is still sitting out there at what I think is a reasonable $899...bet it doesn't last past Sunday though.

I could definitely see 2014 prizm world cup exploding. It was the first prizm set released (maybe first panini set too)? Especially Ronaldo and Messi.

The only suspense is whether or not they will go undefeated, whether they'll set a points record, and who will finish 2nd.
You obviously don't know much about European soccer. Every league is incredibly predictable at the top

Bayern won Bundesliga 7 straight years
Liverpool or Man City pick one
Juventus 8 straight years
Bareclona or Real, pick one

Premier league is extremely competative bar this year.

Panini is an european( italian) company which is more than 50 years old. There are a lot of panini soccer/football stuff older than other sports.

I agree with you on the importance of prizm 2014 set. It is especially the collection which brought many old collectors back in the hobby.

Ligue 1 in France is, at best, a top 5 league in Europe, behind Germany, Spain, England and Italy. Winning the title there is on par with winning the title in Russia or Portugal or Belgium. As others have said, PSG has more money than everyone else, so winning that title is not as meaningful as winning in England or Spain, for example. Mbappe is a great player, but it's a mistake to say that his cards will dramatically go up in value because he wins Ligue 1 titles.

Frankly, his cards are going up in price right now because somebody with a podcast hyped him up and now everyone's jumping on the bandwagon. This is a bubble that will burst eventually, and we will all see his prices drop again soon.

I wonder what makes you say this? You think his game will get worse? Seems like all the Gary V thing did was add more fans and supporters. Chances are it'll just make his stuff even more in demand when people actually get to see him play and it'll most likely give him the strongest card fan base of any soccer player ever.

I learned my lesson a long time ago with Lebron, who's game I absolutely loved but thought would eventually come down in value. Everyone said it would happen, but it never did. Every prodigy will always have fans and doubters. I've yet to find anyone reputable say that Mbappe is not the best young player in the world for the last 2 years. Chances are he will not be the GOAT, but he's the favorite to be the best soccer player in the world going forward by nearly everyone. If you are reading this section and have not bought an Mbappe yet for current buy-in prices, you probably never will.

I can help you short his cards if you want... If you really believe in your comments, short them here. Easy money.

What most people don't understand when something goes parabolic like this is that calling the top is extremely difficult and the pain trade is usually much higher and faster than you could ever dream. Think bitcoin in 2017. Similar effect. Even after bitcoin dropped back down, it still trades at levels that people were screaming, "Bubble!" In other words, his cards could triple, quadruple, from here in the next year and yes, they will fall back one day but they are NEVER going back to what they were before (barring serious injury or transfer bust). They could easily go up triple from here and then fall back to stabilize around these price levels.

No one watches the French league especially in North America. People hyping/schilling/manipulating/buying are in North America.

They buy cards of players they almost never see a whole game of. Just buy hype..grade and hope to find a bigger sucker to sell it to. Americans already think soccer is boring so I doubt some Ligue 1 games would excite them.

I guess everybody apart from real collectors are doing it. Not just north americans. The current hype is due to the new investors coming in thinking cards are the next bitcoin.

Does a Polish player get credit for championships even if they aren't on the team? Asking for a friend.

I'll give you the hype/schilling/manipulating/buying is a thing but that being limited to North America is just laughable. There is certainly a ton of that going on here but it's like you are playing a game to say stupid stuff to see if anyone else is going to come out and play with you.

You clearly haven't been to America on match day in big cities but I will give you Ligue 1 isn't as big here. I live in Baltimore and there are a half a dozen bars within walking distance of me that are packed on game day whether it be International, CL or whatever.

Didn't you hear about Glik's 145M transfer to PSG? Oh wait, that was Mbappe, sorry.

I’ll bite. Can’t we all just agree that Mbappe is void of any talent and has no future? I heard he wouldn’t have got all that money from PSG if it wasn’t for Gary Vee’s podcast. I’m buying nothing but Gilk from here on out!

Glik scored 6 goals that year as a CB with rock hard defense in which the team conceded so few goals to earn the title.

Mbappe only scored 15 goals and a CB scores 6...

In Fifa 18 Glik was rated 85 overall and Mbappe only 83 overall.
Funny. Yes.

I usually base all of my hobby purchases on ratings from video games that were released in September 2017. Seems like the best place to gather information.

Wasn't Mbappe like 18/19 at that point too?

U really hate mbappe dont u?

Did he steal ur lunch or something?

Glik's 6 goals were likely from set pieces (if his 6 goals were all from long range finesse shots or top corner angled drives, i stand corrected)

In set pieces, the center backs will go into the box and Bernando Silva was a deadly free kick/corner taker

Mbappe was 17 at that point. To score even 5 goals at Ligue 1 is pretty impressive. How many did he score in the end? U noe the answer

Monaco won the league that year NOT BY A ROCK HARD DEFENSE ONLY PLEASE GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT

They stormed out of the gates and played the whole season with crazy pace and intensity

Defense was solid yes, but it wasnt a season they they grinded out countless 1-0 wins with a Glik header from a 60th min corner

The heartbeat of the team was the rock solid defensive midfield pairing of Bakayoko (who unfortunately bombed at Chelsea) and Fabinho (now a vital member of Liverpool - and i am a Liverpool fan, so K13, before u start insulting Liverpool, pls get ur facts 100% right). And its this solid CDM pairing that terrified opponents. Not exactly the centerback

The creativity of Silva coupled with the deadly finishing of an experienced Falcao sealed the title (and the pace of Thomas Lemar who later sealed a big money move to Amad)

Mbappe wasnt just a deer staring at the headlights that season, he had plenty of highlights and even Man of the Match and immediately garnered global interest by his stellar play (every big european club wanted him)

Pls just stop downplaying Mbappe's achievements as at 17-18 year old. It makes u look stupid

P.s. ill leave the fifa rating rebuttal for another day. :-)

Sorry for the lengthy post guys

K13, another point i needed to add

If you say Ligue 1 is way too easy

Pls do urself a favour and watch Monaco's march to the Semi Finals of the Champions league that year

Mbappe score against Dortmund home and away and also againt Man City in the knockout stages. If those teams are considered minions to u, i rest my case
