He likened the circumstances to his own family - no one in his family has died or is facing economic hardship.
![]() He "gets it," though. ![]() Curious what you did think was wrong about what he said?

True. But do you have to be in financial straights to understand that it's a problem? If so, I guess this whole situation is a issue between the haves and have nots, correct?

No to anything not bolded - fire fighters is subjective. State governments. As long as the CDC says there's a pandemic in the US. How long are they paid? As long as they have a job? If it's a pandemic by the CDC, yes

Nurses normally don't... It depends on the level of care, staffing, patients, etc

It seems like we have both TDS and CDS in this thread now. The virus is spreading.

A couple weeks ago when I didn't look for it, the guy in front of me checking out had two small packs of TP but they had a limit of one. He handed me the second one, and I ended up taking that to work. I told my mom if i get low at home, she'll have to go to the early geezer hour at Safeway to get me some. She had to do that for herself a couple weeks ago.

The callous attitude toward ANY OTHER KIND OF SUFFERING than that induced by the virus, was quite breathtaking. Domestic violence? Ah, suck it up ladies and kids, at least you're not dead! No more money? Hey, you'll get your measly checks in a couple days? Lost your home? Well, YOU'RE NOT DEAD. Just the weakest kind of argument spewed forth from a truly awful human being. I'm flummoxed that anyone could find his behavior today defensible.

Even regional chain stores are better supplied than Target or Walmart. Walmart shelves are empty near me, but the grocery store has plenty to go around.

I will say, I have been critical on Tim Walz using his model that still feels so out of touch, but he has done some great things in Minnesota as well. Today he announced a "testing breakthrough" that will allow Minnesota to test up to 20,000 people a day. So that could be a good thing OR it could be a bad thing in terms of how long this lockdown lasts. I'm not sure, but he said previously that he wouldn't re-open the economy unless we had the ability to test 5,000 people per day. Well, we have surpassed that amount by a lot now, so hopefully its a step in the right direction to re-open the state sooner rather than later.

I just fear that due to us being able to test so many people, Walz is going to use that as a "see, look how bad it is" type thing and keep us lockdown longer.

Here in Colorado, we've averaged 1500 tests a day for the last month. Pathetic and sad. |

Seroprevalence study in Geneva: 5.5% of the population infected with #SARS-CoV-2. Translates into 27’000 cases, roughly 6 times more than officially announced.
If representative of Switzerland, we’ve missed 5 out 6 cases, with an IFR just below 1. |

On a different note. What do you think about Cuomo letting regions make their own choices about opening up? I don't know how this could work as people in shut down areas will just go to places that are open. It would be wonderful if we could get it to work though.
