I am looking at a 53 Bowman color Reese on eBay being sold by wondercc. It fits in terms of condition and price. My concern is the lightness of the back. I know it's hard to determine if a vintage raw card is authentic unless it can be seen in person. I would like a second opinion if other vintage collectors could check it out and give me feedback. Thank you.

I'm no expert, but it looks pretty white? Possibly bleached? But, it could also be flash from the camera. If interested, ask the seller for another picture. There is one further down for $215 where the back looks similar.

Thank you. I have a Campanella that's similar. It has that "smell" of old paper, like my other 53s, but the back and front are a little bit brighter than all of the other cards in my set. Back in the 70s, I had a handful of 53 Bowmans when there were no worries regarding counterfeits or doctoring of these cards. Except for the legitimate 53 Bowman reprints, I've never seen one of the other types which appear often on eBay that utilizes similar dimensions of the originals. I know that a graded version would resolve that issue, but if the card is legitimate I wouldn't mind making the purchase. I'll contact the seller for information regarding the card.
