And you've gotta remember that there was a huge push to get tests out. I'd like to think quality/accuracy was never compromised because of the rush, but how do we know?

The first recorded cases in Arizona were the first week of February, I think?

The last week of January our 2-year old tested positive for the flu (Type-A) while my wife and I tested negative.

My wife had symptoms (but tested negative) and my kid had symptoms (and tested positive), while i had no symptoms but I live in an apartment with both of them. I got a Tami-Flu prescription despite no flu-like symptoms and no flu diagnoses of any kind and I've been symptom-free throughout all of this.

My gut says that I've already been exposed and have the COVID-19 antibodies but I also realize that I could still have a week or two of fever and bed rest in my future if I don't.

But I'd much rather deal with that contingency than keep everything shut down

Is it normal to go get tested for the flu? My wife and 2 daughters had flu like symptoms in January. I was the only one that did not. Wife had 2 weeks with a cough, couple days with a fever. Both daughters had a fever for a couple days and missed a couple days of school as a result.

I have never had a flu shot, and have never had the flu. Usually get a coronavirus once a year, but this year I have not. If we need CV19 antibody papers to get everyone back to work, I will take the infection. One less place for CV19 to land.

Two years ago I got rocked by the flu. So when my little guy started showing symptoms, I immediately went in for testing so I could get that sweet sweet tamiflu prescription. It's now April 15th and I haven't suffered a full day of fever or congestion this entire year.

Makes sense. Does your family usually get flu shots? My daughters and wife usually do. I always pass. They always get flu like illnesses, I never do. Starting to wonder if the flu shot has made this CV19 thing worse.

My only 2 flu shots got them at work from on-site medical people. Got the flu both times those years and never got it again and never got flu sickness again. I wonder if some people just shouldn't get shots. Co-workers swear by it and never get sick.

Hopefully not, this was the first year I ever got a flu shot. Haven't been sick yet.

So I know a few of members have asked about anyone on the board testing positive or knowing someone who tested positive. My grade school principal tested positive two weeks ago, but she has since recovered. She is in her 70s and ended up with double pneumonia. Apparently she received the test after doctors noticed her kidney function being low. We’re in a small community, so her story made the local paper. She said her symptoms were never unbearable, and she was shocked when the test came back positive. She didn’t know how she contacted it, but she did attend a rather large event in the area the week prior.

Outside of her case, my county has under 50 confirmed cases, and half are at a local nursing home. I believe the death toll in the entire county is less than 10. With Illinois supposedly hitting its peak or having just hit it, there’s a lot of promise for our state slowly opening areas outside the mostly impacted counties up by Chicago, and as a southern Illinois resident, I am ready for it to say the least. However, I know life will truly never be the same, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, especially in regards to cleanliness and personal hygiene. Just wanted to share some positive updates after not posting in the thread for awhile.

Thank God she is doing alright.

Thank God that even people in her condition can pull through this.

Thank God that this virus is mild enough that we don't have to rely on divine intervention for our elderly loved ones to survive.

(I love all BO members regardless of their metaphysical predispositions.)

Infringe on my rights and I will troll you anyway I can. Right now it’s Sub Zero, next time I might not be so friendly.

I really question how far they going to take this. You give them a week, they want two, you give them two, they want a month, you give them a month.......sooner or later you have to say enough is enough. Is this really about the virus or is it about fear & control? Let the people at risk or have close friends/family members at risk make the choice whether to go that extra mile or not.
Listen man, I’m right there with you. I had the choice of bodying some 18 year old kid and getting my eggs the hard way (for him) or complying. This time I chose to “comply” although with my normal sarcastic touch. Next time I won’t be so friendly. My limits have been pushed to the max.

It autocorrects #@#@#@#@ing to ducking and normal people actually use the word #@#@#@#@ing in conversation.

At work we now have to wear a mask in certain rooms, the Quarterdeck, and in the hallways. I'm sure the Admiral will over-react now and make us wear them all of the time now that the MD Governor is making you do it even though we are on a Federal Compound and not under Maryland's jurisdiction. I'm wearing a N95 mask that were given out by the fire department to their volunteers and families. My glasses can't sit correctly on my face to use the bi-focals because of the mask and the glasses steam up.

I'm guessing your face is more annoying to others than the mask is to you.

Overheard in Fredo's basement after being told he'd given his wife the corona: "That's right! And she took it like the champ that she is!" This outburst was reportedly followed by some chest-thumping and orangutan-esque grunting. He then went outside and issued a death threat to a random cyclist passing by.

I did my best to pay tribute to the long-lost "Day in the Life of Richie Incognito" post that circulated on the web for years before finally disappearing.
