Lol, truth.

Here's the opposite of a humble brag to level things out in this thread:

Got my stimulus direct deposit today, BUT.......I have a wife and kids, so unfortunately I don't get to touch any of the money I bring in *tear emoji*

Live it up for me please, y'all. Somebody buy a sick Dominique Wilkins card.

I'll probably give it to this Italian girl that I love so much, but her racist father doesn't want me near her.

I am a teacher, with two kids, and therefore very eligible for the stimulus check. I also have rental properties. Both are impacted by the situation (one works at a winery, the other is laid off from a "DC" job until at least mid May). I lessened each's rent burden this month (suggested a partial payment to cover 100% of April for each) but am far from sure that May will come in.

Thing is, they are each also getting stimulus checks. I hope that they realize that it goes food, power, ROOF, everything else (they don't have medical, etc.... so don't think I"m being heartless). What they choose to do when they have options with the money will DIRECTLY impact what I do when I have options with the courts back open. To be clear, I really want to keep both tenants, but I see doing the right thing when possible as an indicator of respect.

Asssuming I get (Basically) full rents during this situation, I will be using my personal stimulus check to support some local businesses (match their sales for an advertised night so others can support as well) and will also be helping out some other families that are a little short currently.

While I don't "Want" a stimulus check, I will phrase it better in saying that I'm glad I don't NEED a stimulus check. But I will use it to do the best with it we can in the mean time.

Just an idea if it helps. Anyone who doesn’t want their stimulus check can send it to me. I will collect them all and then buy some egregious amount of wax (each stimulus check is worth about half a Walmart blaster right about now, right?)

Then, I’ll live stream the busting of all boxes/cases we can. I will keep only one card from the entire break and then give away the rest on the forum.

Just trying to help anyone who just wants to give it away

I think you will be grateful for the way he's handled this when all is said and done. Minnesota has done a great job flattening the curve.

Everyone, please remember this is not free money, you will be paying this back in the long run.

What about those that didn’t get any? Will they not have to pay back? Or do they get to pay it back as well.

I’m gonna invest in SGC graded cards. I hear they are going to surpass PSA/BGS any day now.

Better jump on the hype train or get left behind!

I’m totally not serious about the above statement.

Amen to that.. Right now, all they have is forbearance for homeowners with financing which essentially push back your mortgage up to 90 days but FULL payment for all months is expected to be due at the time forbearance period is over. While I do expect some more help in this area leading to a modification to the loan for some, it may end up hurting future potential at a new mortgage. Prior to this pandemic, any borrower in forbearance will not be allowed for new financing per fannie/Freddie - not sure if they will make an exception for this pandemic.

The stimulus check may be good for all, I just hope the renters will at least save some $ for rent vs investing in Jordan insert/bases to flip lol. I got about 60% of rents last month - I will be lucky to get half of that this month - let see what the stimulus checks bring..

Best answer here. I'm hoping to pick up some mid-high end Penny cards.

All these renters stories made me feel bad increasing rent by 10% starting in June. Maybe I can delay the increase to guess.

dudeeeeeeee - that's some balls to do that during this time LOL! Everyone is asking for a damn discount.. I actually had a tenant's dad died in one of the apartment a couple weeks ago - didn't know until we got a text at midnight from another apartment in the house - spam calling us - we refused to pick up the call as there weren't anything we could have done - found out the next morning as ambulance came and took his body away... crazy times..

And to answer OP's response - stimulus check got me nothing but I did pick up a triple logoman for these stressful times...

Paying down a nice remaining chunk of my Student Loan.

Just finished up a Corona Buying Spree over the past month and got some great, great, great value.

Sold off some stuff as well.

Now with everyone throwing around their $1200, I'll be sitting out for a few weeks.
I'm sure many people have already spent it all

I hope you find some good value out there.

I just watched a “That’s Jam” Penny go for $60 (with a surface flaw) That was a $20 card a month ago. Even $35 a week ago. Next best option is listed for $175 raw.

Personally I’d love a Dunk N Go Nuts Penny. Watched a PSA 9 go for $93. Passed because I just couldn’t pull the trigger at the time. Now the only one I can find is raw and listed for $100.

Still looking around at some other cards. (Penny’s my favorite player of all time)

That Dunk'n Go Nuts is nice though cause it's not yellowed. I already have one but it's yellowed. There are some decent deals but there's also a lot of cards I've wanted but had to let go cause price went higher than it should have. Penny is my favorite player too. Good luck on your search.
