I always follow trends to see what cards to avoid buying for my collection. With Kobe's demise and all this Prizm/Topps hype I wanted to pick up some Fleer Metal Jordan stuff as they seemed off the radar. Etched cards are my favorites after holograms. I guess it was obvious for everybody. Maybe some of the price increase is organic.

Call it FOMO, cause it is, but I don't wanna be on the sidelines for this wave. People sitting at home, no sports, jordan documentary on.... not a huge cool card by any means, but picked it up at january prices.

You can get SOOOOOO much holoview for the price of some really pedestrian Jordan cards. A few of my oh-my-gosh-I-need-to-buy-these-before-they-get-more-expensive-than-I-care-for-them-to-be pickups:

Simply incredible... holoviews are something else dude, I feel like they encapsulate the 90s pretty well.

Even the original 1991-92 award winners are nice cards. Thinking about grabbing a few if those.

Does anyone realize what kind of lethal doses of unregulated gutter oil my yung body was subjected to to pull this thing back in the day?

Yet still selling for the price of a travel sized dispenser of hand sanitizer.

I just don't get it.

It's a beautiful card. Unfortantely I hated Jordan as a kid. Didn't hold onto any of his cards.

That McDs card would be a monster in a 10 slab tho. I want one.

Love the 1997 SPx die cut more than words can say.

It's still one of the favorite cards in my clection, value be damned. And they were definitely rough from the pack.

Also thought the Shaq rookie from that set was super cool. Neither really gained secondary market interest. Lot of McD h8rs out there, apparently.

There is a PSA9 obtainable on ebay right now for $20... decent pop report #, was tempted, but meh.

Forget PSA 10s. Ship hath sailed on those. I bought a ton of raw over the weekend. Getting pricey considering.

This discussion is now about holograms. Somebody change the title of the thread.

I just had a flashback of eating far too many Jimmy Dean sausage biscuits chasing a 1991 Griffey.

No joke. Bought a few dozen of that McDs holo raw over the years hoping to get lucky. Backs turn brown, really scratchy, and surface bubbles. Pain in the arse that card.

Clean raw is a pipe dream man. This from an idiot who bought a few dozen over the weekend. In transit now. THIS will be the time I get lucky!

Yeah, I'm good too. Seeing it brings up bad memories of being slumped over the can after a happy meal binge spree. Will forever be close to my heart though.

Clectors just don't dig 3d. Except for those 91 fleer acrylics. Sat on about 1000000 of those wrappers back in the day but never sent them in because I thought they'd look like poop. Big regrets.

Nice one. You basically got that card for the price of grading minus the turnaround wait and elevated cholesterol levels. Win/win.

Back right border is yuck. Centering saved that one. Should have been a 7 at best.

That's a yuck for sure and a fish-eye on the front top left corner!
