Anyway, does anyone know how tell if shoes are authentic alligator? I got these Polo Ralph Lauren loafers that I haven't found any listed based on the style code. I've searched everywhere, is there a way to tell without being able to find the exact pair?

That’s awesome congrats on the sale! That’s a big boy

Tho, that seems to be a small margin to be your biggest ever. Are you sure theres nothing you’ve picked up at a garage sale or thrift store for a buck and sold for 20-25? Cuz that’s a “small sale” but a huge margin.

Yeah, I misspoke about margin. Wrong term. I was talking total dollars gained compared to purchase price. There have been a ton of $20+ sales that came from $1 items.

You're kidding right?? All I did was type "how to tell if shoes are authentic alligator" in Google, and came up with this link, along with multiple other links and videos:

https://www.alligatorboss.com/blog/a...they-are-real/

You can also ask Top Sellers on Ebay that sell real alligator shoes, boots, purses, etc. and I am sure they will be able to help you out as well.

Ok I'm more looking for help from someone who has sold a pair before. Nothing from that article really helps because I have no previous experience with imitation or real alligator. Also the soles are resoled so that isn't helping either. I have no idea the price point because they are polo Ralph Lauren and the stuff is all over the place. Thanks anyway.

The shoes being resoled might be a hindrance to selling it. Hopefully it won’t give you too much issue

Yeah it's definitely going to hurt whatever I ask for them. They got some weird resole too, nothing I've ever seen. I'll take a couple pictures later and maybe you guys/girls can give me your honest opinion. Really got nothing to go by other than that. Thanks.

Like I said, ask other sellers on Ebay that sell the same type items. Also, there are other articles and videos, by just using Google.

Lighting is pretty bad, too the pictures quick with my phone. If nobody can help it is no problem, just figured I would ask since some of you have seen tons of different stuff out there. Oh and I guess they are called lug soles, learn something new everyday.

Is it my imagination or did someone remove the sole and replace it with parts from a boot?

Someone wanted to look all handsome and fly but they were on their feet walking all day. Those are boot soles for sure. They look very similar to my pairs of doc martens soles. Might be from a sleazy car salesman!

As tempting as that would be for all of us, that’s definitely not essential and you should probably still quarantine!!

I am still going to work and the wife works from home and helps our daughter with school. Before we would only go on half price Sat.... but still the temptation is there to see what is on the shelves, they said they were going to limit how many shoppers in the store at a time.

I'm imagining when this quarantine is lifted it'll be like black Friday on steroids but with potentially sick people spreading germs. Yep not going.

If it seems kosher and safe then go for it. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous

Friend of mine is already itching. He is calling it the Grand Opening.

I would need a BioHazard suit to go in.
