Didn't bet race 6 but I think it'll be a good trifecta

Tons of good trainers in race 6

You only want to do pick 6 on days when it's the mandatory payout

Otherwise stick with pick 3,4,5

Race 7
239 ex box
239 tri box
237911 sup box
239/135 dd
239/135/1468 p3

Thank you for that advice. Mandatory payout means even if no one picks all 6, it drops down to who picked 5 winners and the best finish of the other right? And if there’s no one who picked 5, it goes to 4 winners and then best placement of the other two. Correct?

[QUOTE=AlexHunter;15726966]Wouldnt it be a 1-1-10 tri?

Nope
Can't have 1-1 for exacta or 1-1-10 for tri
You can't bet it like that
So it's 1-10 ex and 1-10-6 tri

Number 1 does win entire win and place pool and 2/3rds show pool

Yes. If nobody goes 6-6 on mandatory payout day, then all who picked 5-6 share. Doesn't matter what place your losing horse came in, you still collect 5 out of 6.
On mandatory payout days, the pool often is many many millions so it's worth it

I once hit 5 out of 6 on mandatory payoff day and collected $28k. My only loser was the favorite too and I singled the favorite that race.

Makes sense. That’s why the place was almost as much as the win right? The place actually counts both horses 1,2

Thank you for that! And wow nice hit. Does that $28k won cover your lifetime horse losses? :P

Alex, did you see the payouts?

Notice how much 1 paid to place since 1 and 1A took entire pool? Also did you see how the exacta was 1-10 and tri was 1-10-6?

You're learning quickly

Back in the 90s I hit what was called a twin trifecta at Arlington park in IL.
I believe races 6 & 7.

If you hit tri in race 6 you trade it in for attempt to hit tri.in race 7. If nobody hits back to back tri, it carries over. They would make sure those races had extremely large fields.

Well, the entire summer, nobody hit back to back and the pool kept carrying over.

The pool reached 8 figures, I hit the winner with many others. It was a very solid payout for recent collect grad making beans as a teacher lol

Had a big smile on face after that race

Wife also has $5 across on winner
