There are — you know when we talk about third-trimester abortions, these are done with the consent of, obviously, the mother, with the consent of the physicians, more than one physician by the way. And it’s done in cases where there may be severe deformities, there may be a fetus that’s non-viable. So in this particular example, if a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen. The infant would be delivered, the infant would be kept comfortable, the infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother. So I think this was really blown out of proportion …

Yeah, getting into an abortion discussion seems about right for this thread. Let's see how many vacations we can get out of this one.

Holy wow, you are a truly evil disgusting human being if you think physicians discussing whether or not the resuscitated infant should be kept alive and being given the option to not resuscitate is "blown out of proportion"

Disgusting.

To be clear, not suggesting anyone in this thread thinks that, talking about the governor, though if anyone does you are evil.

Ah, ok. I hope so. He's not mentally stable which is the only reasoning for the black face and killing babies. Then there was the gun thing and now the June 10th mandate. I won't be surprised if they start disproportionately enforcing the stay at home policy here in Virginia among urban communities, we still got those problems and the governor is one of the worst in that area. I hope that doesn't happen.

Yes, that was the transcript of the radio interview in question, hence the names of the persons speaking having been bolded immediately before their comments.

I personally have no opinion on this matter.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he made a emergency mandate banning all guns in the state

He would never do that, banning all guns . I , on the other hand , would have them all banned my first day in office

Not by a long shot.

This is a pediatric neurologist talking about very extreme and rare cases.

Luckily when he tried to take everyone's guns the last time almost every single county in Virginia (all except like 2) declared themselves "“Second Amendment Constitutional City's" meaning he no longer has the authority to do #@#@#@#@, not only did local county police departments refuse to enforce his law but they actively stated they would do whatever necessary to defend their citizen's right to bear arms. Even the liberalish big city's like Hampton Roads (though it flip flops) are Second Amendment Constitutional City's now. I also think there was a protest with like 3000 people or something who came with guns but no one got hurt. Going hyper-local was the only way to deal with this power hungry governor. We may see something similar with Coronavirus mandates should his state mandate ever conflict with the federal mandate. Maybe. Virginia has already pretty successfully defended itself against the anti-gun movement and I don't think any further anti-gun movements of any kind will ever find footing in Virginia.

You don't have to find it the same way I think most do, but it's pretty extreme to deliver and then resuscitate a child only to then put down the child.

That said, you initially balked at the idea he even suggested such a thing and gave my favorite emoji

Appreciate that. I would imagine I had a couple of triangles smashed on me before you pointed out that those were not my words.

We had three fellas (one of them the same as here) lose their ish the other day when a member merely noted that US death totals from the virus were approaching numbers from other national tragedies.

I get it. These are emotional times. That's why I'm being extra nice to everyone.

Pretty sure I still hold the record for the worst 9/11 message board post. NC should dig it up and put me in his sig.

Well, then it's a good thing someone didn't take it to mean something far more sinister (that kind of comment which resulted in the two bans so far from the political thread), and react accordingly.
