I'd rather they go with something like that. Small businesses are going to be the worst hit and I don't need a check in the mail because I'm fine currently.

This will provide not only payroll relief but also rent/mortgage and basic operational expenses to keep the business afloat

This is huge for small companies.

First time jumping in here today so not sure if it's been talked about, but while that's a fair point, you can say there are a few thing about American culture though that likely could also hurt us in similar ways.

For one, we're not really the cleanliest bunch in terms of hygiene, might be why NYC is being hit so hard with that many people in close quarters without good hygiene.

I also think the way this country treats St Patty's Day with what all the millennials were doing over the weekend will not help matters. Just getting hammered drunk in a bar, tightly packed, and not thinking about all the yelling their doing over the music and likely spitting lots of Coronavirus particles into the air.

Where as the asian culture is pretty self aware when it comes to hygiene and germs, partially because they do have a lot of viral breakouts in that part of the world it seems.

So yea, I'm sure the kissing cheeks doesn't help Italy, but we have our own downfalls too.

NYC is one of the most dense places in the world. You’ve got people stacked on people and what I am gathering is that this virus spreads through proximity. Stay 6 feet apart (breathing distance) and you should be fine. Go close to a lot of people (NYC), you’ll have a lot more infection.
