Default Official 2020 Cincinnati Bengals Season Thread

Burrow is coming, and he'll be playing behind the same f*cking garbage OL as we had last year, plus Jonah Williams. While some things change, some things stay the same.

Assuming Dalton leaves, we have
Ryan Finley - sucks
Jake Dolegala - unproven, undrafted rookie who's biggest highlight was throwing the ball over the stadium

Not a great breadth of experience

At this point we should plan to keep Dalton One more year unless Chicago pulls the trigger but I think they go for Foles.

Let’s trade #1 to MIA/LVR/JAX for two 1st and a 2nd to fill our glaring holes that we are missing out by doing nothing in FA.

It would be good if we got 5, 18, and 39 from Miami then we could do something like Jeff Okudah at 5, Kenneth Murray at 18, Solomon Kindley and Austin Jackson at 33 & 39.
At 65 we can see what Jalen Hurts can do without a big hit to our overall draft if he busts in the nfl.

104 & 147. Look at Safety and OLB
180 & 215. Maybe a WR and another CB, hoping that we cut Kirkpatrick between now and the draft.

NFL free agency: D.J. Reader signing 4-year, $53 million deal with Bengals.

Darqueze Dennard to sign with Jaguars, I don’t like what we are doing at all!

I LOVE the Reader move. Awesome DT who will make the pass rushers (Geno, Lawson, Dunlap) around him better

I hate the Trae Waynes signing. I would have kept the guy with familiarity

But im just happy we're spending money on free agents

I'm just happy we got a top-tier free agent.
LB and the OL now are our big needs other than QB. I don't want Vigil back, im not a fan of him, but sadly we will probably overpay for him due to nobody else being there. I want an OL at pick 33 though

Not sure how you feel but i would like to see Burfict come back. Working that contract would be interesting though

I would happily take him if it was a reasonable deal.
I would 100000% take him over Vigil's soft ass

Trae Waynes is a pretty solid player. He is probably not a true number 1 corner, but he is about as good as you can get as a number 2. He is fast enough to hang with pretty much anybody and will improve the team.

Obviously overpaid... But that just comes with FA. You should be happy with his performance

Yeah of course. I saw the big issue with him is PIs, but we have Dre Kirkpatrick so I'm used to that stuff

heard last season was a good one for him too so whatever

I thought Dolegala made some nice tosses in the preseason.

Looks like the Bears are signing Foles so we are going to be stuck with Dalton unless NE wants him. I still say we trade out of #1 this year to build up our O-line and LB Corp and look at 2021 QB prospects like Trevor Lawrence!

What’s Bengals fans opinion of Auden Tate? Does he continue to get significant playing time next year with Green returning?

I think his playing time gets reduced unless Ross (or Green) go down with an injury. But he will still be involved in the red zone passing packages.

I love Tate, he is somebody I want to stick around. But I feel that outside of the red zone, his playing time is reduced a bit

Not a bad signing.
PFF had him as their most efficient blocker in one of the categories (run or pass) last year, albeit in limited playing time of course

And Ezekiel Elliott was a much better player in 2018 when he was in at LG instead of Connor Williams (the Cowboys 2nd round pick that year)

For $3m or so a year ill take that

Reader is a nice addition to their talented DL (you forgot Hubbard).

Xavier S. is a solid guard. The Cowboys were fortunate to have him as a backup for two seasons.

Yeah his play didn't look too bad
I do wonder if that was helped by playing next to some awesome linemen, as he was pretty f*cking terrible for the Texans
But I can't complain about the deal

The Mackensie Alexander signing today was excellent
He'll be our starting slot corner

Honestly not a bad offseason all in all, the Vonn Bell signing is OK too

Heres to a lineman at 33
