Doesn't look like there is a Trout SSP variation in Opening Day this year -- he is in subsets but the list doesn't include him as a variation.

In just over a year $725 --> $2k?

I was seriously thinking that I was buying very close to the ceiling at $725.

All hail the fish!

Looks like the #1225 2011 PSA 8 Gold sold today for $1200 today.
That was a nice one. Great centering and corners looked nice too.

Has anyone seen an astronomical jump like this in a card? Price of 2011 Update has almost doubled in two months.

I bought a Lebron 2003 TC PSA 9 for $600 on 12/10/19. If you believe eBay they are selling for about $2400 now.

Doesn't the US175 always have a newer market price around this time every year?

That is a nice looking card. That's going to look like a steal down the road.

Personally, I would rather have a Gold PSA 8 than a base PSA 10....especially when it's $700-$800 cheaper.

I was not clear. My fault.

I was asking for a higher end card. Say minimum $500 doubling to $1K.

I was thinking peak for 2011 US175 would be right after MVP award.

Agreed. I thought about it and should have. It was super nice for an 8.
It had nicer eye appeal than some of the recent PSA 9's that sold for sure.

When thinking about the 2011 Topps Update GOLD, I always go back to PSA pop reports. There are 201 that are PSA 8 or better (51 8s and 8.5, 101 9s, and 49 10s). Compare that to the 4682 base PSA 10s.

There were only 2011 of those Golds made and I would guess that many of those have been lost over the years due to kids pulling them in retail and finding their way into the trash.

I understand the premium put on PSA 10s, but the price differential doesn't make sense to me.

Respectable recent comp:

A 2018 Topps Update #US300 Juan Soto Nationals RC Rookie PSA 10 sold for $150.00

A BGS black label sold for$1,500.00

Exactly 10x more.

That Black Label Trout might sell for close to $20K.

Black labels are funny to me, still just some random persons opinion on a couple minute review of a card makes $15k+ in value difference. Sell now before people realize grading is a scam.

Seems like a perfect scenario for people to take advantage through corruption and special treatment. Oh wait, we already knew that.

Blowout 2020:

Step 1, post a picture of a Black label

Step 2, anti-grading white knights appear out of nowhere to try and discredit grading
