Jesus Christ, now my FAVORITE thread is overrun with this crap.

The fact that any of you are fighting about what people do with their own money and businesses is mind blowing.

I sold a bottle of the bougie aftershaves I found a few weeks ago for $11. After shipping and fees it pays for all 6 bottles I had bought for $4.99, so the last 5 that sell are all pure profit. Also sold a Beatles 8 track I got for free for $8.50.

Idk if I had said this in my last post but the monitor calibrator sold for $145.

I’ve also spent ~15-20 hours in total watching “experts” and whatnot on YouTube and have got very little, if any, useful tips. Does anyone have any good suggestions, or have I been in this game too long to need watch that stuff?

Most of the time it’s just some douche who rehashes stuff from “top 10 picking tips” lists. Then they splice together 5-8 good picks throughout their 8 hour day to make it seem like they kept finding good stuff back to back to back to back. And some stuff they freak out about finding and jaw at you for 5 minutes about the item, it usually just a 60 buck item with an abhorrent sell through rate.

I wish I could find a picker vlog that’s actually helpful!!!!

I suppose I don't understand what "lesson" I'm supposed to be learning here. I thought $2 was a steal for a Ripken auto. I don't do this for a living. It's just a hobby and diversion to make a few extra bucks. If it sells, gereat! If not, I'm a fan of Ripken and I'll keep it in my collection. I'm not worried over two dollars. It's literally two dollars. I can find more than that in my couch cushions.

the phone issue has been discussed by ralli roots before. Hell i can do a search for an item and you search for the same item and we get different results. This is something that is not new. Ralli and others have discussed this on Facebook and in videos before. Read the Ebay tos and it clearly says they will block searches for some items to different regions.

If you watch a few of Ralli Roots videos I think you will be pleasantly surprised. I have watched other channels but I honestly find them the most helpful with new brands and such. Also ReadySetResell, I've been watching him lately and he really knows his stuff. But I've also only started ramping up my business the last 2 years and before that I was at a steady 70-100 items listed so I really knew nothing. So it may be stuff you already know if you have been doing it a while.

Literally all I said was a Ripken signed book is a dime a dozen because he signs so much now and it's cool piece to collect if you are a fan. Until everyone starts getting into it about how's it is a great investment lol. Then I'm not supposed to give my opinion, basically is what I've learned.

I haven’t been thrifting this past week but I’ve been itching to. I’m saving up my money on that business to do a two day marathon:

1- a 14 hour sweep of the greater portland area on a Tuesday or Wednesday hitting the best 10-20 stores.

2- a day of goodwill bin diving- 3 hours at 3 different locations.

There's No Lesson, I think you did great, I Can only speak for myself, but to Me being able to sell something for 10X what you paid is Great.

I Went through a stage where I bought EVERYTHING That had a signature in it, Found Mandela to Trump to Clancy, ETC.....Alot. Getting 10X what you pay for a signed Unauthenticated book is Good in my book.......

my only experience with a Cal book was Bought for $1 and sold for $25, Did it take a year, No but it did take about 5 months.

I Recently found The Ripken way signed by both Cal & Billy, that's been up for a couple of weeks. I'm Like you, I've been a ripken fan(the Entire Family) Since I was a Kid, So if it sells great, if not..Cool I don't have to get his auto at a Show now!

Check out the Early Ralli Roots Videos, They were very helpful for my Wife and I when we first started. We found the earlier videos actually concentrated more on the actual items to flip and what to maybe give a shot. We've found their more recent videos are Concentrating more on their Wholesale Business to their students.

I'm curious has anyone here done their mentoring program?

There is the issue i have with many youtubers. They start out goid then eventually evolve into someone who makes more from their channel than they do on ebay . ralli seems to me like he is on the same path

This is definitely true as well. They were over $120k I think just from YouTube last year. It's also like $400 per person for mentoring and I think they do 60 people at a time? So another $24k each time they do that, probably 3-4 times a year. In the mentoring they also pass on the wholesale they get so they are making money just separating stuff into lots. I never really understood how Taco Stacks got so many subscribers. Do you guys get a lot of info from him? I always thought it was repetitive the trash picking and stuff. Readysetresell knows a ton, way more than I could ever fathom.

Just watched Ralli Roots for 2 hours. It’s watchable and they aren’t annoying like most flippers but I didn’t really learn anything new. Maybe a couple new brands but still the same basic stuff for beginners.

Books are easy to list and easy to store. I snag any signed books I find at reasonable price this would have been a buy for me all day long.. Profit is profit, even if you just clear 8.00 its not taking up any space or time to list 45 seconds to a minute at the most to list. You need a good mix of small profit longtail and fast flips to really do this. The fast flip big profit items are getting harder and harder to find on a regular basis so you need those longtail items to sell during the lean times.
Well said and I agree with every point

I don't have the store sub any more. Wasn't seeing enough sales to justify it.

I hate cursed items. Why is it some items seem to be a magnet for deadbeats. Got an item that has now sold 3 times and still not been paid for.

In worthpoint, putting in Donald Duck tiki pulls 783 results, putting large in it pulls 48 results. Can you either post a pic here or PM me for reference so Im sure to give you the correct pricing results?
