Cost of housing does not mean everyone wants to live there, that is simple economics. A house costing $1 million to build in CA doesn't cost that in Georgia because of less taxes, lower wages, lower material costs.

Why does GA have lower taxes, wages and material costs? Because less people want to live there. Why are the property values still so much higher in CA even if people are leaving? Because there are still millions more people that don't want to leave that are keeping housing prices up.

People going to California were probably illegal immigrants.

Tons of people move to Georgia every year. It has to be up there for growing in population. A lot of Californians have been moving due to the movie industry. What are the stats on those wanting to move to Georgia?
