Default Aubrey Huff not invited to Giants 10 year WS reunion

What say you Giants fans, do y’all want him there?

Nope. He can stay at home. He has the freedom to say what he wants, but that doesn’t mean his former employers have to like it.

Truth!

And he should know better, he played in the softest most sensitive city in the nation.

And now he's of course trying to make it a political thing and play the victim card

Dude has crossed the line time and time again with some of the garbage he's spewed. It's disgusting

No matter what he said, he was a big part of that team. He had a really, really good year. Without him, there's no guarantee the Giants have the privlidge of celebrating a WS win.

Is he constantly tweeting like that? Would he be a distraction if he were in a setting like a WS reunion??

While he has his freedom of speech and can say whatever he wants, it doesn't absolve him of the ramifications of talking like that. Hate speech is hate speech.

He hasn’t said anything that qualifies as hate speech. If I were a Gnats fan, I’d be pissed a main cog of the team isn’t coming.

It just makes the Giants look bad.

What he legally does in his private life is not the concern of the team, he should not be censured for it.

I personally think he should be invited, regardless of how moronic his social media posts are. I wouldn't want to be excluded from professional celebrations based on how stupid I am on the internet.
Having press asking him to clarify these tweets might be fun to watch too.

Nothing wrong with the Bernie tweet. He's concerned Bernie is gonna want to take away guns. Given what's happening in Virginia, nothing wrong with that.

The other tweet HE DELETED was in poor taste.

I agree free speech has its consequences. But I wonder how folks would feel if a former player tweeted about kids in cages (a Obama/Biden policy mind you) and they were excluded by a Republican owner?

Slippery slope. All the comments above would be "no"s in this vote. But the "yes"s are winning (as of now and barely) yet I'm the only "yes" commentor.

The quiet majority... interesting.

BTW... folks need to brush up on the term "groupthink." Apply it to the Astros cheating scandal too. Not one active player stood up and said 'this is wrong" for fear of being ostracized. You're seeing a bit of that here too.

They should have just invited the chap. He probably wouldn't have shown. And if he's that bad a person, he would have been lonely if he did. Instead, we have this nonsense.

Then do not be stupid on the internet. This guy has crossed some lines that should not be crossed. There are ramifications for the actions whether they be online or not. It is not that big of a deal that he is not invited back in the grand scheme of everything, but it does send the message that some people will not stand for the vitriol that he spewed. Sorry Charlie.

I think it's telling that the poll will show that the majority think he should be invited but the comments will indicate the opposite. It's a reflection that most people are against cancel culture but just don't want to deal with the naysayers labeling them a ___ist (fill in the blank, too many silly names to list them all).

I agree with that tweet. The NFL and the NCAA love to roll Jim Brown’s old a** out for a celebration whenever they can. Not really a great guy and has actually physically hurt people. Michael Vick is being shoved down our throats even though he tortured and killed dogs and knowingly gave women Herpes. Huff has not that I’m aware.

Why not bring him in (because again, he was a big part of that team .. can't gloss that over), and let the fans boo if they choose?

I mean the demographic of Blowout is pretty clear which way they lean, not a surprise the way this poll is going.

Not really. The majority, as of last I checked, actually said they did not care. Honestly goes along with how voting goes. Majority is even subjective in incidences like this.

He was already a douche on the radio yet again today (and was hung up on by the hosts). He's a nut job.
