Also SP’s used to be 1:2

But this is the Series 1 thread!

This is the first time I am trying to make money on a release. I started later (thanks shipping delays!) but am not too concerned with it. Cannot let what didnt happen weigh you down.

Ended up making an excel spreadsheet to keep inventory, sorted the cards, and took out the good stuff. I hope to keep it steady. Makin mistakes now so i can learn from them.

Does anyone know anything about these No Logo misprints? Are they legit?

noticed this quick comment in the Walgreens thread about 2020 S1: "Card stock is real thin"

I was thinking that too. Anyone else think it slimmed down a bit more this year?

Also have been thinking these cards are a little more 'slippery'

Even though it's a sticker pretty sure this was my best hit. Any of you fine people help me with a value for something like this as I have no idea how to value it.

Any Nolan Ryan auto is at least $80 that I have seen, with many going up to $200 for regular releases and higher for limited. The sticker does reduce any upper limit, though, even if it is /10. I'd estimate $150 on ebay, but don't just take my word. I'd definitely have swapped the Bo Bichette '85 non-silver pack auto I got for that one.

The backs are definitely more glossy, which leads to the slipping. I personally see that as a higher level of quality, though.

After a quick check with some 2019, the stock is a point or so thinner and significantly easier to bend. So, I guess the gloss was a trade off in production?

Just printing errors. May be rarer down the road, but I wouldn't expect much more for them unless they are of a star RC. Also, don't forget about the double reverse logo errors!:

If anyone has a retail urge, check out this deal for a retail box or blasters for the next 24 hours:

Someone weighed the 2019 updates and compared to 2020 S1 on twitter and the 2019 updates were thinner. The 2020 S1 weighed the same as 2019 S1 and S2.

Yeah 2019 Topps Update was definitely a much much more condition sensitive product, the stock for this is great.

Dumb question, but I have seen Master Set thrown around, but what does it include? Are there other types of sets (I assume base card set)?

How is everyone’s collation? I have done 4 cases, 2 hobby and 2 jumbo.... literally have 3x some golds and so many duplicates. Maybe only 30 overall different golds. I’m disgusted. Also 3x Walker Buehler Relics, 3x Charlie Blackmon etc. not to mention a few boxes where the first 4 cards were all dinged up. Oh and 1/2 my silver packs were 80/20 centering at best!

That’s just how it works as far as the collation goes. The same cards run together, which is why Alonso and Tatis ran together in series 2 last year. In my first two cases of hobby last year, I had the exact same golds. Usually it doesn’t work out like that though. The damage and centering suck though.

Every time I hit a Bo, a Vlad rookie cup followed in the pack. So, I had that going for me. Which was nice.

I found it all over on the north side in my quest for Optic basketball.
