Fun? No. Easier than saying "2020 Topps Series 1, Series 2, and Update Series" every time I refer to it? Yes.

Two/three years ago, “flagship” was such an obscure term.

Now everything is flagship. It should be a word of the year.

You are correct to a certain extent. I’ve probably spent 15-20 hours total sorting, listing, etc on my 3 cases. I enjoy it though, so I’m not exactly valuing my time at $0, since it hasn’t prevented me from doing anything else.

On those three cases I am at -$300 including shipping/fees/etc. I have sold 0 cards for over $100. I did sell one at $95, one at $75, and one at $80. The rest have been $50 or less

And then I still have:
-half the base cards - most of the Lux, Alvarez, May, and Bichette
-A base set
-A Juan Soto Red Auto
-Nolan Arenado Reverence Patch Auto
-A master set. I’ve had to add about $25 or so and a few trades to get it.
-A good chunk of Golds and rainbow foils
-All the Gold Foils, - May and Hoerner Rookies
-A ton of inserts, relics, parallels, etc.
-A few PC Cards, like a Gallen and Puk Gold, Hilliard Auto.. and that’s about it. I collect the Gold RC’s so I was really disappointed that I didn’t hit any of the big rookies.

So while I probably didn’t make a big amount of money, I’d say I made over minimum wage/hour, if you count the cards I have left at their market value.

Intended to buy some hangers at Target using the 15% off coupon but they were sold out. So I needed my fix so I grabbed the more expensive Walmart hanger instead. Hit the Alonso Shirtless SP which is a very cool looking card. Haven't bought much retail yet but the hangers do seem to be a good option.

It's weird, the Walmarts in the eastern Twin Cities have had all of the different forms of retail (aside from the tins) since last week. I still haven't seen any at Target yet.

Something happened to the Targets in the MW. Months ago, they were ALWAYS the first to put out a product now it seems like they are weeks later!

My 2 available artist proof sketch cards from Series 1 (I created pack-inserted cards for the set). PM me if interested. Thanks!

Went by the Target in Waldorf, MD today and they only had one blaster box and regular packs.

At least there was nothing to tempt me to purchase more 2020 .

These look absolutely amazing! I actually landed a copy of one of my favorite cards ever:

2020 Topps Rickey Henderson (RC Logo Medallion)

This is crazy, $68 for a series 1 hobby box is a reasonable choice. I may skip hobby series 2 completely and just get retail hangers.
If you are listing S1 now, you most likely already lost 40-60% of your margin that you would get if you list day (or before is possible) of and also pre sell lots, sets, etc....

No doubt about it. I don't rip but you have to be the guy thats selling the Gerrit Cole Yankees uniform SP for $30 or even $20. Now that they are easily had for $3 dlvd, you're screwed!

Yeah I've got a Hank RC medallion coming, super stoked for it. These are excellent filler items. Are they worthless yes, are they at least an original idea of course.

Yeah outside of the high-dollar parallels, if you are breaking it now it's for the fun - everything that could be hit is pretty much already on the bay and has started going down.

If you can bust at MSRP, you can still turn a profit, you just have to grade out the good rcs

I’m at 368 in the black currently with my two largest hits not sold. Ive also got about 1200 plus at auction or listed. I’ve sold three cards over 100 but Nothing over 200 except for the yordan base lot. Something I learned a little too late is that the main 4 base cards were netting me about the same amount as a shipped complete set priced at 24.95 free shipping. I saved about 10 hours sorting by just pulling the rookies out after I made 17 sets. I’ve got 16 hours on of “work” at the moment.

Realistically if you busted a single case and sold the big four base rookies, you make 1/3 of you initial cost back if you bought in early.

Yeah long burn, I've pulled out the Lux, Bichette, Nico, and McKay rookies as they have the best long term play and get them graded for my Series 1 stash. I'll try and pick up more. Get them graded, then plan my Series 2/Heritage strategy - I haven't decided if I'll break a case or just do case breaks with my breaker of Heritage as I only really want the actions of the guys, and ideally a Real One of Lux.

Heritage is crazy overpriced and the odds are just horrendous. Definitely buy the singles.

Heritage will not be a fun break this year. 2-3 hits per box max. And 75% of the time one will be a Relic.
