Default Worst part of Revolution.

The worst part of Revolution beyond the hot mess of miss matched uniforms is that Zion's auto is a redemption. And not only that but it expires next year. July 17, 2021. This doesn't bode well for NT and other products coming out. And being just over a year before expiry really shortens the window for resellers and long term holders.

*Not mine.

Whhhyyyy.. that's so sad for the Zion redemptions.. him being out the whole season so far was Panini's perfect moment to get them all done.

Pulled many Lulu revolution autos last year. All on card and not redemptions.

How can Zion possibility be a redemption. How hard is it to spend a day signing #@#@#@#@ while healing up from a surgery?

Thanks, this is good to know. Can definitely skip Revolution for the unopened stash (though I know the non-auto stuff is still popular here too)...

Unusually short redemption window. Bad for holding wax where the autos are meaningful if it stays this way.

They really should be forced to do away with redemptions expiring. It makes no sense. COMC can hold millions of cards. Panini puts this garbage in their product and then they put an expiration date on it. But they have no problem making you wait years for a player to sign in some cases.

I wonder whatever happened with the person who had a lawsuit against them for this same reason.

Dont put this junk in your product if you wont honor it.

Usually it is the collector and the company (Topps, Panini, UD) waiting on the player.

Topps laid it out years ago they reason they do deadlines is otherwise they are going to get 4-5 years behind on a player with redemptions and the cost would be so great which in turn would require them to up the cost to the consumer.

Yeah i realize that. I just don't think it's right to make demands on you to open a product and get the redemption in or else they expire. But at the same time they can take forever getting a card back to you. They have no time limit.

I don't understand this last part. What do you mean they would get behind on a player? Don't they get them all done at the same time for a certain product? Usually several products at one time. They don't send the player individual cards as the redemptions come in.

The easiest way to solve this is to just pull Zion and whomever else that would be redemptions for the products. Would be no redemptions to worry about and make it easier.

Am saying Zion is a redemption in this product and then he becomes a redemption the rest of the year. He tells Panini he will sign next January and only does half and sends them back (this has happened) Now in 2021 he has half of 2019-2020 to do and half of 2020-2021 to do. Or he could say he will sign in summer of 2021 and never do so and Panini has a year and half backed up on him at that point.

We have done signings where active and retired players have been sent three or four set runs and only done one or two and said they will do the rest some other time.

I agree with you they shouldn't put them in the product to begin with.

I see what you're saying about getting players to sign on time. But ultimately that's their responsibility and should have no bearing on when you open your cards and send in the redemptions. They have to get the players to sign either way to complete the product. What's even more ridiculous is when the player never signs at all. That is false advertising. They will offer you compensation but that isn't what you bought.

hot take - a number of redemptions is a good thing (assuming they are all promptly filled once redeemed, which we sadly know is not the case) to disincentive people from squatting on unopened boxes for years. thank you for attending my ted talk.

That is not false advertising as the player had said they would sign and then changed their mind. If you also look at the packs and products they cover themselves legally for this, all the companies.

Can you imagine how people would react if half of the products had no Zion autos?

Yeah, that is a pretty big failure. I didn't expect Zion to have any redemptions this year, to be honest.
